Five stops. One mission. The Wisconsin Recovery Alignment Tour launches September 30 at the Wisconsin State Capitol and travels across the state in early October!

Together, we’ll confront the misinformation and disinformation shaping public health, policy, community response, and access to recovery-supportive care and explore how Wisconsin communities can respond through recovery-oriented systems of care, community-based overdose response, bipartisan civic engagement, and voter participation.

When we shared our first food pantry resource post, we were amazed by the response. It quickly became one of our most viewed and shared posts, showing just how important it is for our community to have access to accurate information about local resources.

Because of that support, we're sharing even more food pantry information available throughout West Allis.

Whether you're facing a temporary hardship, stretching your budget between paychecks, helping a neighbor, or simply looking for resources to keep on hand, these food pantries are here to help.

Our goal is to make sure residents know what support is available and how to access it.

On Saturday, April 25th, the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will coordinate a Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative throughout Wisconsin. This one-day effort will continue to bring focus to the issue of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse.

Bring: Prescription (controlled and non-controlled) and over-the-counter medications, ointments, inhalers, patches, non-aerosol sprays, creams, v**e cartridges and devices (with batteries removed), vials and pet medications.

Do Not Bring: Illegal drugs, needles/sharps, mercury thermometers, aerosol cans, biohazardous materials (anything containing a bodily fluid or blood), flares, personal care products (shampoo, soaps, lotions, sunscreens, etc...), household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, chemicals, oil, or gas), acids or any v**e devices containing batteries of any kind.

Drug Take Back this Saturday at West Allis Police Department and West Milwaukee!

Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 25!

Too often, unused and expired medications find their way into the wrong hands. That's dangerous and often tragic. Bringing unused and expired medications to a Drug Take Back Day collection site protects you, your family, and your community.

Prescription and over-the-counter medications that can be disposed of include pills, capsules, patches, vials, pet medication, v**e pens (with the battery removed), and more.

It's easy to participate! On April 25, just stop by a collection event and drop your items into a bin. No questions asked.
