On Saturday, April 25th, the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will coordinate a Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative throughout Wisconsin. This one-day effort will continue to bring focus to the issue of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse.

Bring: Prescription (controlled and non-controlled) and over-the-counter medications, ointments, inhalers, patches, non-aerosol sprays, creams, v**e cartridges and devices (with batteries removed), vials and pet medications.

Do Not Bring: Illegal drugs, needles/sharps, mercury thermometers, aerosol cans, biohazardous materials (anything containing a bodily fluid or blood), flares, personal care products (shampoo, soaps, lotions, sunscreens, etc...), household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, chemicals, oil, or gas), acids or any v**e devices containing batteries of any kind.

Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 25!

Too often, unused and expired medications find their way into the wrong hands. That's dangerous and often tragic. Bringing unused and expired medications to a Drug Take Back Day collection site protects you, your family, and your community.

Prescription and over-the-counter medications that can be disposed of include pills, capsules, patches, vials, pet medication, v**e pens (with the battery removed), and more.

It's easy to participate! On April 25, just stop by a collection event and drop your items into a bin. No questions asked.
