Preble County Pride

Preble County Pride Our mission is to bring diversity and LGBTQIA+ visibility, awareness, and acceptance to Preble County

02/05/2026

We have made the difficult decision to pause all Preble Pride activities for the foreseeable future. We would like to thank our community of volunteers, performers, and other talent that came together to make Preble Pride a safe and inclusive space. We couldn’t have done it without your help.

Best wishes,

Clayton Jaros

Times are rough right now with new blows coming from every direction, but let's remember the resilience our people showed through the AIDS epidemic in the 80s and 90s. We must always dance. We must remember the joy, even when the days look darkest.

Dear friends and supporters,

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to pause our Pride celebration and most organization business this year.

As a small, close-knit team of volunteers, we are navigating some personal commitments and life changes, and we want to ensure that we can continue providing support to the Q+ community with the care and attention it deserves.

While we won’t be gathering for Pride this year, please know that our dedication to the Q+ community in Preble County remains strong. We’re looking forward to coming back next year, stronger and more connected than ever. We encourage you to visit us online where you can find our resources and contact information.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We appreciate each and every one of you and are grateful for the sense of belonging we continue to build together.

In solidarity,

Clayton Jaros

"I’m not built the same that you are. I’m not you and you’re not me. I’m not perfect. And nobody is. And my body is what it is." ❤

People categorize me as a bear and say I’m a big guy. I don’t see myself as a big guy, like when I look down, I see myself as a normal person. People think I’m a big bad*ss and assume I’m a bouncer or security person. I’m a normal, gentle, super-emotional person and I’m very loving, very caring. You know, it’s not about the exterior, it’s so much more about who I am and what I do.

They’re categorizing me and throughout your whole life you’re being put into a certain mold. Growing up you are reminded of the fact that you’re unhealthy, that you’re fat, but you can’t help it sometimes, it’s in your DNA. I come from a family that are body builders and obese. And I’m in the middle. People ask me all the time, “you are a body builder?” Honey, the only thing I lift is a fork and a knife!

I’m not consistent with the way that I eat. I don’t overeat, but my metabolism is not the same. I’m not built the same that you are. I’m not you and you’re not me. And I can’t say that I exercise regularly, I can’t say that I eat at a certain time. I’m not perfect. And nobody is. And my body is what it is.
