🇺🇸 Honoring Service, Sharing Experiences, Inspiring the Next Generation 🇺🇸

Comrade Eloy Cuevas had the opportunity to speak with the Weslaco High School JROTC cadets, sharing his personal experiences while serving in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom – Afghanistan.

Through his stories and firsthand experiences, Comrade Cuevas gave the cadets valuable insight into the realities of military service, the importance of leadership, the meaning of sacrifice, and the bonds formed among those who serve.

🇺🇸 A PROUD COMMITMENT TO SERVE 🇺🇸

THE NEXT GENERATION OF AMERICAN WARRIORS HAS ANSWERED THE CALL.

The Weslaco VFW Post 12178 was honored to stand beside two outstanding Weslaco High School JROTC cadets as they made a life-changing commitment to serve our great nation.

Comrades Eloy Cuevas and Freddy Valdez proudly planned and hosted a Military Signing Ceremony at the Weslaco High School Library honoring:

🇺🇸 Santos Alexander Rocha Hernandez — United States Marine Corps

🇺🇸 Jose Garcia — United States Army

In a powerful and meaningful moment, Comrade Eloy Cuevas had the distinct honor of administering the Oath of Enlistment, as these young men raised their hands and took their first official step toward serving our country.

Comrade Wayne Gagne was also in attendance, proudly representing the VFW and standing in support of these future warriors.

Today, we celebrate more than a military enlistment. We celebrate courage, commitment, sacrifice, and patriotism. These young men have chosen to place service to our country above self, following the proud tradition of those who came before them.

The members of Weslaco VFW Post 12178 are extremely proud of Santos and Jose. We thank them and their families for answering the call to defend the freedoms we hold dear.

May God bless these young men as they begin their military journey. May He watch over them, protect them, and give them strength throughout their service.

🇺🇸 THE FUTURE OF OUR NATION IS IN GOOD HANDS. 🇺🇸

WELCOME TO THE RANKS OF AMERICA’S DEFENDERS!

Semper Fidelis. Army Strong. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 COMRADES, A VETERAN IS IN NEED OF OUR HELP 🇺🇸

We have a local Marine Corps Veteran, Efren Perez Sr., who is currently in need of assistance after a portion of his roof collapsed.

Comrade Efren Perez Sr. served our country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, and now it is our turn to stand with him and his family during this difficult time.

If you are able to help in any way—whether through donations, materials, labor, or other assistance—please reach out to Comrade Lupita Perez.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Every contribution, no matter the size, can make a difference.

🇺🇸 Let’s come together as a community and take care of one of our own. 🇺🇸

Semper Fi, Comrade Efren. We’ve got your back.
