Day 3 and the final day of Blue Zones Ignite Weslaco!

An incredible three days of the Blue Zones Readiness Assessment wrapped up with meaningful Discovery Meetings at Weslaco City Hall, bringing together City leadership, healthcare, faith-based, education, business, and community partners.

Throughout the three days, Weslaco showed up, shared its voice, and demonstrated its readiness for transformation!

Thank you to everyone who participated, shared valuable perspectives, and contributed to this important process.

The Readiness Assessment may be complete, but this is just the beginning of what’s possible for a healthier, happier, and thriving Weslaco! 💙

Day 2 of Blue Zones Ignite Weslaco kicked off with an incredible Keynote Event and Weslaco showed up!

The strong turnout and engagement from our community clearly demonstrated Weslaco’s readiness for transformation and a shared commitment to building a healthier, more connected community.

The day continued with Discovery Meetings, where community leaders and partners took the conversations even deeper sharing experiences, identifying opportunities, and discussing what it will take to create meaningful and lasting change in Weslaco.

What an exciting day of engagement, collaboration, and possibilities for our community!

The Knapp Community Care Foundation Board and Staff recently visited one of our grant partners, HOPE for Small Farm Sustainability, during their “Little Sprouts, Big Profits” Summer Camp at Stainke Elementary in Donna.

This hands-on camp empowered students ages 9–14 with the knowledge and skills to grow microgreens, practice sustainable farming, safely harvest and package their products, and explore entrepreneurship by creating simple business plans and learning how to market and sell what they grow.

It was inspiring to see these young entrepreneurs gaining confidence while discovering how agriculture, nutrition, and business can create opportunities for their future.

We are proud to support programs that cultivate the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.

Knapp Community Care Foundation was honored to be part of the first City of Weslaco, The Official Site Healthcare Coalition meeting as community leaders, healthcare professionals, and emergency response partners came together to strengthen collaboration and preparedness for our region.

We also look forward to continuing our partnership with the City of Weslaco, The Official Site through the upcoming Blue Zones Initiative as we work together to create a healthier, stronger future and lasting impact for the community.
