"Most playgrounds, kids could never get to the top if they're in a wheel chair or some type of walker. Here you can get to the very top of the structures."

After years of delays and infighting regarding the parks projects. Along with a mass exodus of many of the city’s most skilled and long term employees due to politicking. After having a revolving door of department heads over the last few years and simply the loss of many of the people who help build Wentzville into the city it is today due to city politics, perhaps it’s time for a change. You should chose who you believe will do the best job for the city, but only the incumbents have the track record of delaying the park projects, ignoring citizen advisory boards, and forcing out many of the people that make Wentzville great. Perhaps it’s time of a change.
Incumbent Alderman Forrest Gossett faces Robert Hussey and Jay Webber in the 1st Ward.
Incumbent Rick Stokes is opposed by Linda Wright in the 3rd.

Note: The Wentzville Park Board, which is usually consulted on such matters, was not informed about the cities demands prior to this meeting. It appears that the Board of Alderman is no longer taking the advisory boards seriously and this is the second major action item not brought to the attention of the Park Board in as many months.

St. Louis Renaissance Faire organizers, as they have for the last 15 years, are transforming 17 acres of Wentzville's Rotary Park into a mythical 16th century French town.

Note: The Wentzville Park Board was also kept in the dark about the unusual change, until the Board of Alderman enacted the change. Normally, major projects and changes to projects (related to the parks) are ran by the Park Board first. Hopefully, this doesn’t cause more delays and/or legal issues for the city!

FOUL: Here’s a question for Wentzville city administrator T. Michael McDowell: Do you read the Post-Dispatch? Perhaps if you did, you would recall a story or 10 on the troubles of the Rockwood School District, which, as the crow flies over the Missouri...

Update on Splash Station: It’s estimated that Splash Station should be completed around early September, 2013. Due to massive amounts of rock at the site, the construction is a couple of weeks behind schedule and construction cost currently appears to be topping the total budgeted amount for the project (including contingencies funds).
