In Flanders' Fields the poppies blow; between the crosses, row on row.
Today is , the perfect day to pause and reflect on the famous poem ‘In Flanders Fields’. Written in 1915 by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae following the death of a close friend during the Second Battle of Ypres, the poem inspired the selling of poppies to raise funds in aid of ex-Servicemen. Because of McCrae's poem, the Poppy has become a global symbol of both Remembrance and hope for a peaceful future, as well as an important fundraising tool.
