The Wentzville-Lake St. Louis Optimist Club, together with the Holt Cross Country Team, hosted another fantastic Turkey Trot Race on October 22 at Holt High School — with 360 kids from 3rd–7th grade running their hearts out! 🦃

Congratulations to Wabash Elementary for earning the Traveling Trophy and to all the medalists and turkey winners! Huge thanks to our amazing sponsors who make this event possible and help us support youth activities year-round. 🙌

Turkey trot is Wednesday the 22nd. The middle school girls race is at 4pm followed by the boys race. Elementary races start at 5pm with the 3rd grade girls followed by the 3rd grade boys and then the 4th graders and finally the 5th graders. Weather forecast looks great.

The Wentzville-Lake St. Louis Optimist Club was so happy to recognize Officer Tim Princivalli of the Wentzville Police Department, on Thursday, September 18th, for his service to the youth in the community. The club annually recognizes an officer or citizen nominated by the Wentzville and Lake St. Louis Police Departments. Each year the former recipient is tasked with identifying and nominating the recipient for the current year. For the Wentzville Police Department, last year's recipient was Officer Craig Schulte, who had this to say about Officer Princivalli:

Officer Princivalli has served as a dedicated law enforcement professional for over 20 years, with the past 6 years as a School Resource Officer (SRO) for the Wentzville Police Department. His commitment to student safety, education, and mentorship has left a lasting impact—particularly at the elementary level, where he spent four years teaching the S.T.A.R.T. program to local 5th grade students. Beyond the classroom, Officer Princivalli has been a mentor and instructor for students in grades 3 through 5 at Cop Camp, a summer program that strengthens the connection between law enforcement and youth.
Since the inception of the S.T.A.R.T. program in 2022, Officer Princivalli has played an instrumental role in shaping and enhancing its curriculum, ensuring it remains effective, engaging, and meaningful. Even after transitioning to his new assignment as the SRO at Wentzville South Middle School, where he now works with students in grades 6 through 8, he continues to demonstrate exceptional dedication. Despite a shortage of instructors, he selflessly volunteered to continue teaching the S.T.A.R.T. program for the 2025/2026 school year—a testament to his unwavering commitment to our students.

Officer Tim Princivalli exemplifies the spirit of service, leadership, and mentorship. He is a true asset to the Wentzville community and is most deserving of this honor.

The award was presented to Officer Princivalli at the Wentzville Police Station by members of the Wentzville-Lake St. Louis Optimist Club and Officer Schulte, and attended by many peers from the Wentzville Police Department.

We are honored to recognize Officer Tim Princivalli and we thank him wholeheartedly for his dedication to the youth in our community.

Today's the day. Turkey Trotters start racing at 4pm behind Holt High School in Wentzville, MO.

I'm very excited to announce that Optimist International executives will be joining us at this year's race. WOOHOO!!!

Races start at 4PM and final awards by 7PM.

Hope to see you there and witness all the great work our club does for the kids in the Wentzville-Lake St. Louis area.
