Hay all, A little update:
I started a new business and have been super busy. The server that runs the wires-x software crashed, and I didn't notice it. It is back up now. I am hopping to stay more on top of it but, well, there is only so many hours in the day. 3 jobs, 5 kids, and wife, time is a premium. Sorry to all that have tried ot use the repeater that couldn't!

- No room time limit so feel free to link to whatever.
- Generally on MOKAN, America-KC-Wide, or STL-Metro.
- It is a repeater at a house so not the best coverage But it’s better than nothing and it’s a start.
- Will be raising the antenna higher come spring

Was on the MOKAN net tonight and we were talking about coverage. Here is a map of the projections. Not saying they are accurate but from driving around they seem to be fairly close. To the gentleman in St.Peters/ Mid Rivers, This explains it. Looks like there is definitely a hole in my coverage. Thanks for the reports and keep them coming in.

Desense is fixed!! It is up and running. 📻🎇🎇🎆🎉

Downside is that I talked to KC-wide guys and they said they are a digital only room. Means we would have to switch the repeater to digital only instead of analog and digital. if switched to digital you would then be able to get in to any room.

Input needed:

Originally I was going to keep the repeaters default connection as STL-Metro but ther has not been much activity and other repeaters that used to be on that are switching to KC wide. Comment what you would like to see the default set to and feel free to comment other ideas too like don’t default connect at all, make our own room, etc. Speak up this repeater is for all of us.

Good News - Bad News:

Good news:
Drove to work this morning and could key up the repeater and hear the repeater all the way down 70 EB to 370 and all the way to about St.Charles at Elm! Great coverage for what it is. Some spots were a little patchy but better than. I thought.

Bad news.: There is some desense going on I think. This means that the repeater is partially def for now. The signal is keying up but it is not getting the voice carrier unless it is a high-power signal. Think it is an easy fix and I think I know that problem. However, I am on a 48-hour shift and will not be around until later this week to mess with it. For those of you who have tried close to the repeater with HT's this may have been the problem.
Good news this might be a simple fix.

If anyone is out driving around and can at least key up (or any other experience) from different locations in the county or surrounding counties, please let me know. Thanks for all the support! We are sooo close!

IT’S ALIVE……. IT’S ALIVE……
The KC0EHQ Repeater is one the air in Wentzville!!! Fusion analog and digital Auto mode selecting and Wires X internet linked. 442.800Mhz No tones.

Thanks to Andy NX9L for the help. If anyone doesn’t know, Heliax superflex is not your typical connector and without him, the connectors would not be on. He came out on super short notice and got us up and running!

Please jump on and give it a shot. It is at full power (50w) for now but I am going to drop it down to mid after a bit. Want to save to transmitter. Feel free to message me if you are trying. I have my radio on. Analog or digital.

To all that offered to come out and help today: I am so sorry I did not get back to you and coordinate better. My daughter got hurt this week and we have been tied up with that. I was able to squeeze a couple hours in today. What does a HAM do to release frustration? Work on radio stuff. lol.

Got the mounting brackets up and secured. Have a temporary mast in it for now. Was planning on running cable tomorrow but will have to see what the weather is like.
