K-9 Bear 1/4/15-1/30/26
K-9 Bear and handler Virginia Payne were certified in mantrailing. K-9 Bear was a calm, steady presence at training, festivals, and demos, which made him an excellent mentor for the younger working dogs. He was a very methodical worker and will be remembered for his easy going personality and the gentle, steady swish of his giant tail when he found his target. Sweet K-9 Bear will be missed by all who knew him.

K-9 Journey

K-9 Journey was adopted from the Rockingham County shelter as a timid stray pup. Together with handler Darlene Griffin, Journey excelled at search and rescue and was certified in mantrailing and human remains detection. K-9 Journey was known for his exuberance to get started and his metronome-like "tracking tail" when looking for lost people. He was a confident veteran of many searches and seminars, but preferred to guard his truck at festivals and noisy public events. K-9 Journey touched countless lives and his steady love and enthusiasm will echo in our hearts forever.
