Why It’s “Women Veterans Recognition Day” – Not “Women Veterans Day”

On June 12th, we celebrate women Veterans and honor their incredible contributions, but it’s important to recognize the true meaning of the date and its official name.

June 12, 1948 marked a turning point in history: The signing of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act granted women the right to serve as permanent, regular members of the U.S. Armed Forces. That’s why we honor Women Veterans Recognition Day.

Today, and every day, let’s celebrate service, remember history, and continue to uplift stories.

🇺🇸 Keep Their Memory Alive This Memorial Day 🇺🇸

This week, many veteran groups or American Legion Auxiliary Units will be at local cemeteries putting a flag on veterans' graves.

Each flag is a small but meaningful reminder that someone served, sacrificed, and helped protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

If we think about the men and women who answered the call to serve our country. Some have family who visit regularly. Others may have no one left to stop by, clean their marker, or leave a simple flower.

This Memorial Day, if you’re already visiting a loved one, consider taking a few extra steps:
🇺🇸 Place an extra flag on a veteran’s grave.
🌹 Leave a flower for someone who may not have visitors.
🧽 Clean a headstone that has become weathered or dirty.
🙏 Pause for a moment and say “thank you.”
❤️ Remember those who gave everything so we could live freely.
We may not know their names, their stories, or their families—but we owe them a debt that can never truly be repaid.
Freedom is not free. It was earned through the sacrifice of brave men and women who gave so much for generations they would never meet.

This Memorial Day, let’s make sure their service, their sacrifice, and their memory are never forgotten.
Honor. Remember. Never Forget. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 Honoring the Brave on Armed Forces Day 🇺🇸

Today, we recognize the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the men and women serving in the United States Armed Forces. Armed Forces Day is a time to thank those who protect our freedoms at home and around the world.

From the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Space Force — we honor every service member who answers the call to serve with strength, honor, and commitment.

Their sacrifice does not go unnoticed. Their service will never be forgotten.

🎖️ Join us in showing appreciation for our active-duty military heroes and their families.
