Congratulations to Trystan Daniels on his recent promotion to Captain!

Captain Daniels began his career in the fire service as a resident for Jefferson County Fire District #1 in Madras, Oregon. He was then a resident for Chelan County from 2015-2017 and hired as a career firefighter in 2018.

Trystan is also a member of both the Rope Rescue and Water Rescue programs.

Congratulations to Mathew Rise on his promotion to Battalion Chief!

BC Rise is a Leavenworth native who was hired as a firefighter/mechanic with Chelan County in 2009, moving to shift full-time in 2015 and promoted to Captain in 2018.

Your Wenatchee Valley firefighters had a busy weekend over this 4th of July. From multiple brush fires, mutual aid for neighboring districts, and a structure fire in East Wenatchee. These men and women are honored to serve the community with true grit and intestinal fortitude. Thank you for your continued support.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of retired Battalion Chief Ken Christensen, who dedicated more than 30 years of service to Wenatchee Fire & Rescue and continued serving our community as a Fire Commissioner for Douglas County Fire District 2.

Chief Christensen’s commitment to the fire service, his leadership, and his friendship left a lasting impact on generations of firefighters and the communities he served. Our thoughts are with his wife, Deeda, his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family, friends, and members of the fire service are invited to celebrate Ken’s life on Saturday, June 27, at 2:30 p.m. at Jones & Jones – Betts Funeral Home, 302 9th Street, Wenatchee.
