We are so thankful for his unwavering commitment—not only to his work protecting and serving our community, but also to the care, compassion, and support he consistently gives to Mission Vista and the clients we serve. His presence has made a lasting impact, and we are incredibly grateful for the heart he brings to everything he does.
While one chapter closes, we can’t wait to see the next adventure you embark on. 🚀

We are absolutely bursting with pride for Henry! 🎣

Check out these incredible photos of Henry out on the water. You can truly see the pure joy on his face as he reels in those catches. For the longest time, bowling was his only hobby, but look at him now—a true angler!

It is so inspiring to watch him discover a new love for the outdoors. He is truly thriving, and seeing him this happy and active makes us all so incredibly proud.

We have to give a huge shout-out to his dedicated staff member, Edgar, for encouraging this amazing new adventure and supporting Henry every step of the way.

Another birthday celebration for our RockStar Darrin Rapalee who turned 62 years young! What an awesome day celebrating Darrin’s birthday at Abby’s! All the clients were having a great time— laughing, chatting, and enjoying some seriously delicious pizza. Staff really went above and beyond too, decking out the party room with special “Drummer” décor so Darrin could party in true rock‑star style! 🥁
And of course… what’s a birthday without a little excitement? The birthday boy may or may not have dropped his cake on the ground. BUT don’t worry — it wasn’t totally ruined… it just ended up with a little extra personality. Let’s call it a “custom‑designed, gravity‑tested, slightly‑lopsided masterpiece.” 🎂😂
Darrin got spoiled with presents from his friends — new kickers, clothes, cool shades, coffee cups, gift cards, and even new drum sticks. Now he’s about to REALLY JAM! 🥁🔥
One of the best parts? He got to reunite with his old high school buddy and his wife, making the day even more special. ❤️

Local Athletes Shine at Washington State Special Olympics
— This weekend, the spirit of competition was felt across the state as athletes gathered for the Special Olympics Washington State championships. It was a massive turnout, with competitors traveling from every corner of the region to showcase their hard work and passion.

Among the standout performances was our very own Veronica and her incredible team. After a weekend of giving it their all, they secured a hard-earned 4th Place finish.

Watching their determination and joy on the field was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. We are so proud to assist our clients on their journeys, and seeing them triumph in moments like these truly makes our hearts warm. Congratulations, Veronica and team, on a beautiful performance!

Throwback Thursday time! Anyone who knows Jeff Smith knows he’s got a "fish tale" for every occasion—and he’s usually teasing the staff with them!

To celebrate his love for the lake, we decided to have some fun with a little AI movie magic.

The Past (90s): Ol' Jeffers was so locked in on a trout that he fished himself right out of his boot! (Check out that lone sock—that’s true dedication.) 🧦

The Present: He finally reeled it in! A bit more seaweed, a few more stories, but he’s still the best fisherman we know. 👢

We love getting creative and having a laugh with our clients. Assisting people to live their best lives means more than just support—it means being partners in crime for the best "fish tales" ever told!

Happy Birthday to the one and only Miss Teresa!

We had such a great time celebrating her last weekend at her favorite spot, KFC. There’s nothing like catching up over a bucket of original recipe and all the sides. It was so good to see everyone, especially her kindred spirit, Miss Sonjia—those two together are always a highlight! 🍗

A huge thank you to the staff for helping us get everything organized and making the party run so smoothly. Delicious food and even better company.

A huge shoutout and heartfelt thank you to Lilies of the Valley!

Their incredibly generous donation of stunning floral arrangements has brought so much joy and color to our clients' lives last week. It’s amazing how a simple bouquet can brighten a room and lift a spirit.

In the middle of our busy lives, this was such a wonderful reminder for all of us to slow down and stop to smell the roses.

We are so grateful for your support and community spirit!

From Nap Time to Race Time! 🏁

Today reminded me why I love what I do. I went to pick up my friend Larry for a shopping trip, but found him mid-power nap. I mentioned "meds," and he gave me a sleepy "yeah..." I mentioned "RC Boat and Trailer," and suddenly Larry was a gold medalist in the 10-meter dash to the front door!

We hit up Georgie’s Hobby Shop, and Larry was on a mission. He walked out with a haul that would make any hobbyist jealous:

A 26" Traxxas Disruptor 40MPH RC Race Boat (watch out, local pond Geese!)

A 31" Traxxas boat trailer

A winch, roll bar with LED lights for his 1/10 scale Ford F-150 RC Truck.

The shop owner was a legend and even hooked him up with a discount. By the time we got home, Larry had his trucker hat on backward and was diving into those boxes like it was Christmas morning.

When I asked him, "Okay Larry, what's next?" (referring to the assembly), he didn't even look up and said, "A horse trailer and a camper." I chuckled and thought to myself "we're gonna need a bigger trunk!" 😂

Left him happily studying his wiring manuals. Larry is proof that you’re never too old to get excited about new "toys." My heart is officially full. Huge thank you to -Georgie's Highway 2 Hobbies!

It is with heavy hearts that we share that our dear friend Steve has passed away.
While we are deeply saddened by his loss, we take comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and is now living his best life in peace.
We would like to take a moment to reflect on some of the wonderful memories we were blessed to share with Steve. We were incredibly fortunate to be by his side as he attended his very first Seahawks game in Seattle, enjoyed several Mariners games, and of course cheered on his beloved local Wild hockey team. These moments were filled with joy, excitement, and the genuine happiness that Steve brought everywhere he went.
Although we will miss him dearly, we are grateful beyond words for the time we had with such an amazing man. The Mission Vista staff feels profoundly changed for the better simply by having known him. His kindness, humor, and spirit made a lasting impact on all of us.
If you have a favorite memory with Steve, we invite you to share it here. We would love to hear the stories and moments that meant so much to all who knew him.
Rest in peace, Steve. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered. 💙

Scotty brings the energy wherever he goes. He loves music—especially Elvis! From dancing to his favorite oldies to grabbing the mic for some karaoke every now and then, Scotty's passion for music truly shines. 🎤
He also enjoys cheering on his favorite hockey team, The Wenatchee Wild, and never misses a chance to show his team spirit at games! 🏒
Scotty loves spending time with his friends at get-togethers like birthday parties and fun outings, making memories and sharing lots of smiles along the way.
