I know a lot of the club members are aware that there has not been a lot of recent word from our club. This has been a difficult period over the past 2+years. There was a personality clash which hurt the club, followed by the pandemic, then the city closed down then meeting hall we were using.
Over the past couple of years, the Veterans Hall was moved to a different city owned building adjacent to the Eagle’s Hall on North Wenatchee Avenue. The veterans did a bang up job doing some remodeling and finally were given the green light to open it up.
The down time over the past couple of years hurt our attendance for members attending meetings. There were only 3-4 who were usually there. Now other escalating cost of fuel and related expenses, this too is creating a burden for our club members. Most are prioritizing where it is best to spend money for recreation.
Now for the sad news from me, On June 4, 2022, I had an accident where a side by side fell off of a forklift as it was being unloaded out of a semi trailer. About the time it was about to touch the pavement it fell off of the forklift on to its left side. I caught me and pinned me to the pavement, which cause a back injury which later showed there is a L1 compressed fracture to the vertebrae. The spine specialist has advised that it will take up to 3-4 months to heal hopefully without any surgery. Time will tell. I am now wearing a back brace all the time except when laying own. With doctor recommendations my WATV/ATV riding is now on hold.
With all that is going on in my life, and for the few members who has been attending our club meetings, I am requesting we hold off for a few months. If some one wants to carry on, you are welcome. At the present we do not have any serving officers for the club. I am open for suggestions.
