We offer therapeutic riding, veteran support, and life/work skills for adults with disabilities. Alatheia Riding Center changes lives with the healing power of horses. Since 2011 we have served children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities and veterans from four North Central Washington Counties. Alatheia exclusively uses beautiful and gentle Norwegian Fjord horses, trained inst

ructors and a dedicated team of volunteers to provide services. We are a member center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International.

There’s a place for you at Alatheia.

As Alatheia begins an exciting new season of growth in our new home, we’re looking for more wonderful people to join our volunteer family.

Our volunteers are at the heart of what we do. They walk alongside our riders, care for our therapy horses, support our programs, and help create the welcoming community that makes Alatheia so special.

Whether you have experience with horses or have never stepped inside an arena, you can make a difference here. We’ll provide the training, and you provide the heart.

For Martín, Alatheia is pure joy.

His mom Maria shares that every night at bedtime, Martín asks, “Is tomorrow the day I get to go see the horses?” And when that day finally comes, she says it feels like Christmas to him.

At Alatheia, Martín gets to fully be himself. His personality, charm, and ability to connect with his riding team shines so brightly here. He feels a true sense of belonging and community, surrounded by people who love him dearly.

His mom shared that Alatheia is “the most precious gift” Martín receives each time he comes. A place where participants are met with compassion, connection, and care.

Some evenings just get everything right.

Last night’s Sunset at Beecher Hill was one of them. The smoke cleared. It was a beautiful summer evening, an incredible setting, wonderful guests, and the music of Chris Ward and Leanna Shannon filling Beecher Hill.

A huge thank you to Abra and Timm Miller, who opened their beautiful home and were the most gracious hosts. You made the evening feel truly special.

This experience was purchased at last year’s Run for the Roses Gala.

It’s a pretty great reminder that when you raise your paddle at Alatheia’s Gala, you might just be bidding on a memory you’ll still be talking about a year later. And yes, our procurement team is already working their magic on another incredible collection of experiences, getaways, dinners and surprises for this year.

At eight years old, Adam is a bit of an old soul. He loves the Mariners 💚💙, music (especially John Denver), going to school and being with his classmates. At home, he has Shadow, his beloved “mama dog” and faithful protector.

And then there’s Julle.

Adam absolutely loves his therapy horse, Julle. His grandma Maura says that when Adam knows he’s coming to Alatheia to see her, he lights up. Once he’s on her back, something shifts. He relaxes, and is completely engaged in the experience.

His family has seen meaningful changes, too. Riding has helped Adam strengthen his core and become more relaxed and comfortable in his body. But what stands out most is simply his willingness to try.

For Maura and his mother Maegan, watching Adam find joy, and confidence with Julle has been something they are deeply grateful for.

And for all of us at Alatheia, getting to watch Adam light up when he’s with his horse is pretty special, too. This is a reminder that we are truly changing lives with the healing power of horses.
