Whenever we rush with an answer, we could be taking away discovery. Control of error...Materials are designed so children can recognize and correct mistakes on their own, without relying on an adult to point them out.

Last senior spotlight before school starts! We asked Lucas Adams some questions about his time at Wenatchee Valley Montessori. Lucas just wrapped up doing some Summer maintenance work for our school.

1) What are you looking forward to the most now that you have graduated?

"I am probably looking forward to the flexibility of my new schedule now that I have graduated."

2) What will you be studying and where (college/ University)/ trade school or where will you be working?

"I will be studying at WVC to get my AA and then move on to a university where I can get more advanced degrees. After I graduated at Wenatchee Valley Montessori I now have a stable job there."

3) What did you like about Wenatchee Valley Montessori?

"I really liked the improved freedom of my schedule, space, and classes compared to public middle and high school. I had room to walk around whenever I needed to and had more freedom of choice in choosing the classes I took. I also liked the smaller size of WVM in comparison to other schools as well; the others felt very overcrowded."

4) Lastly, what piece of advice would you like to leave for the younger kids who will eventually graduate?

"Always ask for help if you need it; I missed a lot of opportunities not doing so."

Thank you Lucas for taking the time to share your experiences with our students and their parents. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

We really appreciate all of your contributions to our school!!! Looking forward to touching base in the future to see where life leads you academically and professionally.

More wish list items have been donated! Thank you!!!! We now have yarn for lower elementary. For Primary, we have a new book about making mistakes and a hammock for our climbing dome that is in the play yard.

"The LE kids LOVE to finger knit, crochet... and this kit comes with the perfect individual sized yarn balls. They are ready to go during read aloud or when they want to just practice their skills."
- Ms. Grace

Thank you to our Wenatchee Valley Montessori Community for making our new upcoming school year extra special!!!!

Ms. Abby has some items available to gift if anyone is interested. Great book collections for the kids, banana gram word game, storage bins, fidget toys and a 10 drawer rolling cart.

Senior Spotlight Continued...

We are under a month out before school starts back up again and we would love to shine a light on another senior who graduated.

Hunter Diggs graduated a year early and was very proud to share some of his accomplishments with us. He is extremely skilled at rebuilding parts of engines and body shop painting. He gives a lot of credit for his skill set to his time spent at Wenatchee Valley Tech center. Our school and Brook's guidance helped him develop his skills and led him to work with Joe Dietrich (tech center teacher). He had hands on work there and continued to build the foundation for his passions.

Hunter also expressed that job shadowing at Town Toyota in east Wenatchee with Eric developed his skills in painting/ color tinting.

We asked him what did you like about your time at Wenatchee Valley Montessori and he told us that "its better than public school because you can go and study what interests you. You really get to decide what projects to work on because the rules are less strict and you have more room to grow." He also mentioned feeling really supported here.

What is your advice for the younger students who will graduate after you?

"Say yes whenever you can get experience. You never know until you try it." - Hunter

This year, he placed 4th at the national skills conference (Skills U.S.A.) out of 46. https://www.skillsusa.org/ Last year he placed 9th. We are so proud of his drive to continue improving. He had a paid apprenticeship at Ge**er Collision as well.

Hunter is highly skilled in fixing dents on cars, body shop painting and rebuilding engines. Please feel free to look at some of the pictures he has sent to us. You can see the progression of his work. If you have any words of encouragement for Hunter's future endeavors, please comment below.

We are so proud of all of our seniors who graduated. Thank you Hunter for sharing some insight into your passions/ curiosity of different fields of work (including wildland firefighting). You are already successful and we know you will accomplish great things. Thank you for choosing to share and develop your skill set with us.

Takeaways:

Montessori helps you find your own path forward.

Hands on learning is very beneficial.

Say YES to experiencing different things.

Job shadowing can help you determine if a certain field is really for you.
