From the ridge tops to the valley bottom, Chelan County provides residents and visitors alike, with a spectacular place to live, work, and play. In celebration of everything the county’s natural resources provide, the Cascadia Conservation District annually hosts a photo contest. Anyone age 13 and up who shares our appreciation for Chelan County’s natural resources is invited to participate.

How many different bears do you see?

Students from Mission View Elementary School deployed trail cameras again in May of 2026. Cameras were placed in riparian restoration sites and forested areas alongside of streams. Teams of students selected and installed their cameras in specific locations of their choosing, based on the animals tracks, trails and other sign that they found. This video compilation includes some of the bears captured by the students' cameras at one location.

This project is dependent on private land owners, our education partners and funders! These include:

Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife

and private landowners, who will remain anonymous to protect the wildlife that call their properties home.

Los estudiantes de la escuela primaria Mission View volvieron a instalar camaras de fauna en mayo de 2026. Las camaras se colocaron en sitios de restauración ribereña y en zonas boscosas situadas a lo largo de los arroyos. Equipos de estudiantes seleccionaron e instalaron sus camaras en ubicaciones específicas de su elección, basándose en las huellas, senderos y otros indicios de animales que encontraron. Esta recopilación de videos incluye algunos de los osos captados por las camaras de los estudiantes en una de estas ubicaciones.
