One of my favorite artists. All drawn by hand and animated in Flash.

To most people, it’s just a busy Saturday at the park.

To some combat veterans, the same scene can feel like a mission: tracking exits, scanning for potential threats, watching approaches, avoiding choke points, and trying to keep a clear line of sight.

That doesn’t mean the people around them are the threat. It means the body is still trying to protect them the way it learned to in combat.

This is why task-trained service dogs matter.

A Battle Buddy service dog can be trained to “Block” in crowds, creating a physical buffer that gives the veteran space to breathe, lower their baseline, and stay present with family.

And when the anxiety spikes, that same dog may lean in with deep-pressure contact, helping ground the veteran and bring them back to the here and now.

We don’t just place dogs.

We help restore independence.
