June 14th, 2026c Morrison Hayes Post 702 Wellsville American Legion Flag Day Ceremony held at the Wellsville Rod and Gun Club was attended by approximately 80 people.

Service included Master of Ceremonies and Welcome, Post 702 Commander Yvonne Simmons; Opening Remarks, Shane Scott, Post 702 Member and Past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge #1495;
Posting of Colors and National Anthem, Post 702 Honor Guard and Emma Elliott;
Opening Prayer, Post 702 Chaplain, Jaime White; Pledge of Allegiance, Emerson Scott and Liam Green, Squadron 702 Junior SAL; Reading of Ragged Old Flag, Dennis White, Squadron 702 SAL; Folds of the Flag, Stanely LaForge, Boy Scout Troop 733, Robert Wade, USAF Veteran and Kris Green, USAF Veteran and Post 702 2nd Vice Commander; Presentation of Flags, Post 702 Commander Yvonne Simmons, Post 702 2nd Vice Commander Kris Green and Post 702 Sergeant-at-Arms Ed Fay; Ceremonial Flag Burning Post 702 American Legion Riders, then everyone joined in to sing God Bless America. Commander Simmons thanked everyone for coming and participating in the 2026 Flag Day Service. All were invited back to Post 702 for a light luncheon done by Unit 702 Auxiliary President Sandy Smith.

Morrison Hayes Post 702 Wellsville American Legion and Morrison Hayes Unit 702 American Legion Auxiliary present 2026 scholarships. Congratulations to Elizabeth Seely, Sarah Mattison, Jayna Thomas and Kori Thomas.

Morrison Hayes Post 702 Wellsville American Legion – On June 11th, 2026 3 - 50 year Certificates of Continuous Membership were given to Dan Artlip, Steve Dickerson and Pat O’Connor. All are long time and dedicated members of Post 702 American Legion. Certificates were signed by National Commander Dan Wiley, National Adjutant Rodney Rolland and Post 702 Commander Simmons. The certificates were read by County American Legion Commander Kris Green and then County Commander Green and Post 702 Commander Yvonne Simmons presented each with their certificate. The official motto of The American Legion is "Veterans Strengthening America." It captures the organization's lifelong commitment to supporting military personnel, their families, and local communities through advocacy, volunteer work, and dedicated programs. Congratulations Dan, Steve and Pat.

Morrison Hayes Post 702 American Legion Color Guard have been requested for honors for Flag Day Services on Sunday June 14th, 2026. Honors will be rendered beginning at the Wellsville Rod and Gun Club at 11AM. The Color guard will be meeting at Post 702 on Sunday June 14th, 2026 at 9:30am. Please note that if raining a notice will appear on Legion FB page that service will be held at Post 702 at 11am. Decision will be made at 9:00am on Sunday, June 14th, 2026. We hope you can join us to honor our american flags proper disposal. This ceremony is open to the public and we encourage all to attend.Thank You.
