Diamond Bar Ranch an Equine Rescue & Sanctuary-501c3

Diamond Bar Ranch an Equine Rescue & Sanctuary-501c3 We walk in faith to help the least of them. Our focus is on those who others overlook or simply won’t help.

Rehab and rehoming is our goal, yet recognize that some need sanctuary and they are home when they arrive.

FINALLY ❣️

The first horses are home! It feels like an eternity, but Cleo, Echo and Peanut are the first of the DBR horses to arrive.

I can’t even describe the feeling of seeing horses in the pasture😍🦄💜💚💞💗🦄

There is strategizing to do to get everyone home and the weather might not cooperate over the next week, but the dream is a reality. The ranch actually has horses in one of the pastures and the rest of the pastures are close to being ready for residents 💝.

God is so good!

Halters will come off, these pics are immediately

Halters will not stay. They are just unloading and learning their new home.

Any guesses what is going on?

Rocket had a couple special visitors today. Not only did Chris our farrier come to visit, sorry no pics of his pedi…he was on my lap during it. Shhh🤫🤫 don’t tell Chris, but I’m not sure Rocket was as impressed by Chris as he was by Marina💜.

Marina told Rocket stories during his pedi and then she brushed him as a reward for him being a good boy for his trim. Rocket LOVES to be brushed so he made sure to give her lots of kisses 😘 before she left as a thank you.

As you might imagine his list of available babysitters is growing😂🤣🚀🦄.

Disclaimer for everyone wondering: Rocket isn’t spoiled at all. He doesn’t run up and half jump on my lap and expect to be pulled the rest of the way up😂. And he absolutely doesn’t look at Dad like “told you she would let me.”. Nope not spoiled at all🤣😂🤣😂🦄🚀🚀

What’s your vote? Spoiled or not?

Liberty and Star were finally able to come home from the hospital today! No more spiking fevers!

There labs show infection/inflammation and so do their lungs, but they are thankfully stable. The more we learn based on their labs and overall health the more we question where their mommas are and what their life was before. Liberty has old wounds and scuff marks along with an unhealthy coat. Some place even look like she has suffered rain rot💔😭.

Poor Liberty looks at me and I swear she is asking “what just happened to my world?” She is so very confused. My heart hurts for her. Star is a red head and it shows. She is a bit feistier and wants to know what happened but is sure she will be okay as long as she has Liberty….idk what the girls experienced before we found them, but it wasn’t good🥺.

I assured them that life was only going to get better now.🩷 As if everyone agreed this was true when the girls started talking and calling out everyone in the barn answered. Even the other mommas, Bree and Dreamer. Often other mommas won’t respond to a baby calling out because they are only focused on their own baby. I am so grateful everyone in the barn responded so the girls would know they were not alone anymore.

I’m sure everyone in the barn assured them that they were in a safe place and the food servant would be around multiple times, because both girls laid down to rest. Star even stretched out😆.

The girls spent 4 days in the hospital. As you can imagine that is an expense…..if you’re able to help with any of their medical it would be greatly appreciated.🙏🙏🙏

Please keep these precious girls in your prayers and share their post. They need a huge village and I’m hoping you will be part of theirs.

Please indicate Star and Liberty in your gift of love.

Everyone’s Ultimate Dream doesn’t look the same…..for us here at DBR ours always involves a horse or donkey.

Today’s HAPPY after the kill pen peak looks at a very special ultimate dream:

Ultimate Dream, aka Dreamer and her 2 yr old c**t were at a kill pen in February. Today both are safe thanks to the efforts of three rescues working together to save their lives. We even got a bonus save😍

These THREE would not have had a chance without the help of New Start Standardbreds a group out of Canada who raised the bail for Dreamer and her 2 year old c**t named Jett.

Jett now lives at Crown of Power a 501c3 focused on offering equine assisted therapy. One day Jett will join other horses in helping to heal trauma and abuse victims. Until then he is learning how to be a well loved horse and member of the family.

Ultimate Dream had her “bonus save” on May 2 here at DBR. Kiki is a feisty girl who has an opinion and wants to share it😆. However she is adorable and knows it❣️. Yes, spoiled babies are our specialty 🩷🦄💙.

Three rescues working together to provide a chance at a future for these three lives. We are so proud to be part of so many second chances and to work with many wonderful rescues to make a difference for the equines who desperately need it.

Liberty and Star are both eating milk pellets💜🩷!

At their age I wish they would drink milk replacer, but at least with the milk pellets they are getting the much needed calcium and other nutrients they need for bone and vital organ development.

Do you want to help the girls, but not sure how? Get well soon gift ideas included buckets, halters and milk replacer pellets. Both girls will need their own buckets and halter. Buckets cost 2️⃣5️⃣ each, halters are 3️⃣2️⃣ each, and milk replacer is approximately 6️⃣0️⃣ per 25lbs.

We prefer Schneider breakaway adjustable halter because they are padded and will break if accidentally caught on something rather than injuring the foal. We buy them locally same as the hangover buckets. We often can buy milk replacer pellets locally, thankfully Chewy usually has them in stock if not available locally.

Other than the girls medical expenses and quarantine buckets, halters and milk replacer pellets are the most critical need for the girls.🙏

Liberty and Star would love to come home tomorrow to buckets full of milk replacer pellets. Honestly not sure they will vote for halters, but they are necessary 🥰.

Please keep the girls in your prayers and keep sharing their post. Hopefully someone knows what really happened to their mommas. We still have no leads on where their mothers are and that breaks our hearts. The cruelty these girls have seen in their short lives is unbelievable. If you can show them a bit of kindness by sponsoring a bucket, halter or milk replacer pellets the girls would be so grateful.🙏

⁉️WHO DOES THIS⁉️

⁉️ WHERE ARE THEIR MOTHERS ⁉️

These are the questions I keep asking and honestly I know I will never get the answer 😭.

Yesterday we helped two orphans who were posted at a Texas k1ll pen. We were told the smallest two found another home. I am praying it’s a good knowledgeable home.

Our girls who we named Liberty and Star in recognition of Memorial Day, are only 4 & 5 weeks old. Neither have their 6 week teeth. Neither have their umbilicus fully sealed (usually happens between 4-6 weeks). They were picked up and taken directly to Oklahoma State University (OSU) vet hospital where the foal specialist was waiting for them. Yesterday was a long day for all of us. I didn’t leave the hospital until late and got home even later.

Here’s what we know about the girls health: both Liberty and Star were slightly dehydrated last night requiring fluids which included dextrose to keep their glucose levels in check. They had multiple labs drawn and of course had indications of infection, because they are BABIES who aren’t even old enough to have their umbilicus sealed much less any immunity to all the freaking germs they were exposed to during their stay at a germ infested k1ll pen🤬🤯😤. Once they were stable we gave them hay, milk, milk pellets, water and a camera for us to watch them while giving them some space to eat and rest. The trauma they have experienced is so hard on them. They need a rest.

This morning they had ultrasounds of lungs and abdomen. We wanted to check their umbilical, lungs and other organs. Both girls have consolidation in their lungs. Libertys labs didn’t reflect just had bad hers is😩. Liberty also has a heart murmur. Stars labs were the first hint that all was not good.so we were not as surprised by how her lungs looked🥺.

The plan: the girls will get more labs in the morning to see what 36 hours on fluids have done for them. Fluids will be discontinued and we will monitor them for 24 hours to see how they do “on their own” with eating and drinking. Depending on what the labs say will determine if the girls get to come home on Thursday or not.

So here is the part that just blows my mind 🤯🤯and I can’t figure out, these girls are NOT feral. They are not even wild! Heck baby Kiki is more wild than they are! The girls are not even afraid of people. They let us pet and scratch them. They let us treat them. This tells me their mothers were not wild either. They learned people were okay from their mothers. Where are their mothers! Both girls try to nurse off each other. This tells us they have not been without their mothers for very long💔. They are both eating alfalfa and nibbling milk pellets we put on top of the alfalfa. They are not yet drinking the milk. We really need them to start drinking 🙏.

Please say a prayer for the girls. When we agreed to help these babies we stepped out in faith. We knew the first hurdle was getting them off the lot. Now we have medical needs and it’s adding up quickly 😬.

We need 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ for their medical. We are praying they won’t need to spend more time in the hospital, but they have lost their mothers, we can’t let them lose their lives too. We need to ensure they have the medical care necessary for them to live.

Please, if you’re seeing their post send what you can, lift a prayer for them and share asking your friends to do the same. Fb algorithm doesn’t like rescues I guess cause they don’t let all of our followers see our post. YOU are these babies only hope. Please help us keep them alive.🙏🙏🙏🙏

Please indicate Liberty and Star or orphans in the note section of your gift of life. We can’t help them without you.
