As the snow melts away, so does the mud that has covered pieces of our history for far too long. This week, as the mud was carefully scooped out, 50 steps that have not been seen in several decades.
The restoration of the cemetery continues, made possible through the generous grant we were awarded this past fall specifically for restoration. Work began then on restoring these long-buried steps, along with lifting and resetting monuments that had fallen and slowly disappeared beneath the ground over . Every stone uncovered and every monument stood upright is a step toward honoring those who came before us.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to continue this work and for the support that makes it possible. More updates to come as restoration progresses.
