Guild members must be getting their entries ready for the exhibit because we are getting a lot of questions about hanging sleeves! Here are a few quick answers to your questions...

*Quilts over 30 inches wide are required to have a 4” hanging sleeve.

*Quilts less than 30” are required to have a split sleeve.

*Quilts less than 18” may use "Fast Finish Triangles” for hanging.

*If your quilt is not a square or rectangle and you need advice about hanging, contact the exhibit chair.

For full instructions and video tutorials for preparing your quilt for the exhibit visit the guild's blog and click on the Exhibit 2026 tab.

The Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild has proudly selected the Humble Bumble Project as the charity to benefit from the proceeds of mini art quilts created and generously donated by its members. These unique quilts will be showcased during the upcoming exhibit at the Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center, where attendees can appreciate the artistry while contributing to a meaningful cause. The Humble Bumble Project, a registered 501(c)(3) charity based in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, is dedicated to providing support to pediatric and young adult cancer patients and their families, offering a range of services designed to ease their burdens during challenging times. For those interested in learning more about the invaluable work they do, additional information can be found on their website at www.humblebumbleproject.com.

MLGG members, would you like to be a hostess for the upcoming quilt exhibit at the Gmeiner? Hostesses support visitors by answering questions about the quilts, guiding them on voting for the viewer's choice, reminding them not to touch the quilts, and selling raffle tickets. The Gmeiner is open from noon to 5:00 Tuesday - Sunday, with shifts from noon to 2:30 and 2:30 to 5. Please contact Deb Pascale if you are able to help.

Last week, members of PATCH came together to create quilts for the Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild's upcoming exhibit at the Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center, set to open on September 19th. The exhibit will showcase various outreach projects from the guild, and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase "A Little Bit Of Whimsy" art quilts made by guild members for $35 each. All proceeds from these sales will benefit the Humble Bumble Project, a registered 501(c)(3) charity in Tioga County, PA, dedicated to supporting pediatric and young adult cancer patients and their families.
