Members of PATCH-Providing Aid Through Creative Handiwork are gearing up for quilting season during their upcoming meeting in October. Since the group does not meet in November and December due to the holidays, this gathering will be particularly important as it will provide members with quilt kits to start working on and finish at home during the holiday break. The meeting is scheduled for Friday, October 23, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center. Attendees are encouraged to bring their sewing machines along with their usual quilting supplies.

Several guild members have been asked to create a special story quilt in celebration of the Green Free Library's 110th anniversary. To make this quilt reflective of our library, we're on the lookout for some fabric scraps that feature bookish themes. If you happen to have a 6-inch square scrap that you could spare for this project, we would love to hear from you! Your contribution will help us create a beautiful tribute to the library's history! Contact Susan McConnell or Brenda Abplanalp for more information.

The Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild's October meeting is set to celebrate the beauty of fall! Members are encouraged to showcase their fall-themed quilts, wall hangings, or table runners during a special show and tell segment. Additionally, there will be select fall-inspired quilted items donated by Deb Dom available for silent auction, with proceeds benefiting the Humble Bumble Project, so remember to bring your checkbooks. The evening will also feature the awarding of ribbons for the 2026 Exhibit and the drawing for the raffle quilt, ensuring an exciting night ahead. Join us on October 19th at 7:00 pm at the Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center, and remember that guests are always welcome.
