Today we enter into the Passion of the Lord. From the Upper Room to Gethsemane, from betrayal to the cross, we witness the depth of Christ’s love.

Jesus does not resist the Father’s will. He embraces it, even when it leads to suffering. In His silence before His accusers, in His forgiveness from the cross, we see love poured out completely.

Holy Week invites us to walk with Him. To remain near in prayer. To trust that even in darkness, God’s plan of salvation is unfolding.

🙏 Lord, give us the courage to follow You through the cross, trusting in the promise of the Resurrection.

Today we celebrate the quiet strength of Saint Joseph.

He didn’t preach sermons. He didn’t perform miracles. He didn’t write a single word of Scripture. And yet, he changed the world.

Joseph listened. He trusted. He acted. When God asked him to take Mary as his wife, he said yes. When he was warned in a dream, he got up in the middle of the night and went. No spotlight. No applause. Just faithful obedience.

In a culture that chases noise and recognition, Joseph shows us another way: steady love, hidden sacrifice, courageous fatherhood, and the holiness of ordinary work.

Whether you’re leading a family, building something with your hands, or quietly carrying responsibilities that no one else sees, your faithfulness matters.

St. Joseph, protector of families and patron of workers, pray for us. 🌿

Thank you for making our St. Patrick’s Day dinner such a success! We truly appreciate your participation and support, and we’re especially grateful to all the volunteers whose efforts made the event possible! The money raised will help support our sister church, All Saints Catholic Church in Maggotty, Jamaica, which was devastated by a hurricane last October.

Be the Light!
Today’s Gospel reminds us that Christ calls each of us to be light for the world. A light isn’t meant to be hidden—it’s meant to guide, to warm, and to give hope to others. As Knights of Columbus, this is our mission in action: through charity, unity, and fraternity we reflect the light of Christ in our families, our parishes, and our communities.

In a world that often feels divided and uncertain, even small acts of kindness shine brightly. A helping hand, a listening ear, a prayer for someone in need—these are the ways we let our light be seen. Let us never underestimate the power of simple faith lived with courage.

May we go forward this week determined to be that light—steady, faithful, and unafraid—so that others may see our good works and be drawn closer to God.

Join the Holy Spirit Parish - Wells, in supporting our unhoused neighbors! From Jan 31 to Feb 8, the parish is collecting new socks and new/gently used winter accessories (hats, gloves, scarves, and mittens). Look for the donation boxes in the narthex.
