In Moss Point, Mississippi, flooding is a familiar disruption to daily life. Luckily, with support from the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Moss Point is changing this reality through the River City Flood Ready Initiative, aiming to make Moss Point a safer, greener, and more resilient place to live through science, community knowledge, and nature-based solutions like rain gardens, green spaces, and restored streams.

Last month we asked all Reserves to encourage friends groups and foundations, businesses, NGOs, nonprofits, and other community organizations to sign a letter of support for the NERRS FY 2027 budget.

We are thrilled to announce businesses and organizations representing over 855,000 people answered the call!
