The Wreaths Across America convoy, the nation's longest Veterans parade, will be traveling through Wells tomorrow morning, Monday, December 9th. The convoy will arrive in Wells around 8:30 am, traveling south on Route 1, and stopping for a ceremony at Wells Junior High School from 9 am - 10 am.

Upon its departure at 10:10 am, the convoy will detour on Chapel Road, looping around Sanford Road and continue south on its journey to Arlington National Cemetery. Wreaths Across America officials added this extra loop to ensure that the Elementary School children and members of the public have additional opportunities to view the convoy.

For those traveling in the area that morning, please be aware there will be temporary road closures and delays, to allow for the convoy's journey through Wells. We thank you for your patience.

We strongly encourage the public to make its way out tomorrow morning and cheer on the convoy as it enters and departs our community. The convoy will be escorting 18 Gold Star families, who will be honored at the Jr. High School ceremony that morning. Wells is honored and humbled to have the opportunity to host such a meaningful and significant event.

We are looking forward to another great ceremony this year!!

Welcome to our new Wreaths Across America page and thank you for your support in our mission to honor veterans within the town of Wells.

This past December, our Fire Chief Mark Dupuis was honored with the opportunity of attending the Wreaths Across America convoy from Harrington, ME, to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. With his involvement, we were able to start our own small wreath laying ceremony at Ocean View Cemetery in Wells. In pulling together a small ceremony to start, we had incredible support from the community and many of whom want to be involved with these efforts. With over 600 veterans buried at the Ocean View Cemetery, we are hoping for your support in making it possible to sponsor wreaths for each of these veterans this year!

A link to our Wreaths Across America website is attached to our page. Please share with your local friends and family, and be sure to reach out with any questions or if you would like to be involved!

We are excited to have such a positive impact on our community and veterans. Consider sponsoring wreaths, volunteering your time with us, and spreading the word. Pictured below you will see Fire Chief Dupuis laying a wreath at the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC, as well as pictures from our ceremony at the Ocean View Cemetery this past December.

Stay tuned for more announcements and updates!
