Spokane Tribe GONA

Spokane Tribe GONA Spokane Tribe GONA is an effort to bring a healthy change to the SIR by promoting four core values: Spokane Tribe GONA. BELONGING
A place for all ages.

We have renamed our GONA (Gathering of Native Americans) events to personalize it more to our community. The 4 parts of the Spokane Tribe GONA curriculum incorporate the value of these four levels of human growth and responsibility that are found in Native cultures. A place for all kinds of people. The first day event represents infancy and childhood, a time when we need to know how we belong. MAS

TERY
Empowerment, for individuals, and for the community. The second event honors adolescence as a time of vision and mastery. INTERDEPENDENCE
Action, community leadership. The third event is symbolized by adults, integral and interdependent within their families and communities. GENEROSITY
Teacher/Elder and resources in the community. The final event honors our Elders, who give their knowledge and teachings to our generations of the future.
