SHRF is committed to supporting, advancing, and directing scientific research and education to enhance the health, athletic potential, and career longevity of sport horses. The Sport Horse Research Foundation envisions a future where a marriage of knowledgeable equine sport horse stakeholders with professional researchers guide effective research

that measurably improves the health, welfare, and athletic potential of sport horses. Initially SHRF seeks to fund and direct research primarily for dressage and showjumping horses to further our understanding of the veterinary problems and issues affecting these specific segments within the sport horse industry. Much needed research will facilitate more accurate and early diagnosis, more effective treatment, and directed rehabilitation of sport horse injury to increase career longevity and better inform industry stakeholders.
