Camp Judy Layne Empowering girls through outdoor adventure since 1957 🌲🏕️✨ Camp Judy Layne is one of GSKWRC's four camps and the only site that offers annual Resident Camp.

Our gates are opened for girls ages 6 and up.

Join us for at Camp Judy Layne for the Ghoul Scouts encampment! This year's theme is "Ghouls Just Want to Have Fun" and we're excited to bring back the costume pageant and campfire smores and songs! We are also adding new things like a glow stick dance party! Please make sure enough adults register to maintain safety ratios for your troop. Badges not included.

Join the Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road Camp Volunteers for an overnight, hands-on Troop Camp Training!

Learn essential outdoor skills including:

Knife safety
Knot tying
Fire building
Outdoor cooking
Camp setup & Leave No Trace

Ends: approximately 12:00 PM October 4

At least one registered troop volunteer must complete Troop Camp Training before a troop can participate in approved camping trips or reserve camp units.

The 2026 Alumni Staff Reunion at Camp Judy Layne is just over 1 month away! Register today to spend the weekend (or just the day) in the Big Woods where you can reconnect with gold friends, make silver friends, and re-experience the magic of CJL.

WILDERNESS FIRST AID TRAINING

Be prepared for outdoor emergencies with hands-on Wilderness First Aid training at Woodview Lodge at Camp Shawano!

Saturday, November 7 & Sunday, November 8
8:00 AM–6:00 PM Saturday
8:00 AM–4:00 PM Sunday
$100 per person

Participants will learn practical skills for assessing and responding to injuries and illnesses in outdoor settings.

An optional CPR/AED class is available Friday, November 6, from 6:00–9:00 PM for $40. CPR/AED certification is required for Wilderness First Aid.

Registration is now open for all of our 2026 Girl Scouts Love State Parks Council Sponsored events!

Join us on Saturday, September 12th as we celebrate the outdoors with Girl Scouts across Kentucky and beyond. Whether you're exploring a wild cave at Carter Caves, enjoying outdoor adventures at The Breaks, or participating in activities at Kincaid Lake, there's something for everyone.

Event Options:

Carter Caves State Park (Olive Hill, KY) | 11:00 AM–4:00 PM
Wild Cave Tours, s'mores, hiking, and more!
$5 per person (includes the 2026 Girl Scouts Love State Parks patch)

The Breaks Interstate Park (VA/KY) | 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
Outdoor activities throughout the day
Bring your own sack lunch!
$5 per person (includes the 2026 Girl Scouts Love State Parks patch)

Kincaid Lake State Park (Falmouth, KY) | 11:00 AM–4:00 PM
Outdoor crafts and activities hosted by the park
Activity fees are paid directly to the park on the day of the event.

Can't make one of our hosted events? Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend is September 11–13, 2026! Visit any state park with your troop or family, send a photo from your adventure to [email protected], and order your 2026 Girl Scouts Love State Parks patch through the Girl Scout Shop.
