Nine Mile Canyon Coalition

The Nine Mile Canyon Coalition is focused on the preservation, protection, education, and promotion of scientific research within Utah's Nine Mile Canyon.

We are saddened to share that one of our longtime board members, Craig Housekeeper, has passed away.

“Craig spent his formative years growing up on a ranch in Nine Mile Canyon, where he learned the value of hard work alongside his dad. He cherished his memories of Nine Mile Canyon and carried a deep appreciation for the area throughout his life... He was known for his warm smile and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends…Craig is survived by his beloved wife, Dawna.”

We will truly miss Craig’s big personality, stories, and devotion to the Canyon. We are sending an enormous amount of love to Dawna and the rest of the Housekeeper family. ❤️❤️❤️

It is with a heavy heart we share the passing of one of our Board Members, Diane (in purple). We lost Diane shortly after Stewardship Day/Fall Gathering this year.

Dawna (in blue), our Treasurer, and good friend of Diane has written some words that will be shared in full in our next newsletter.

For now we would like to share the following from Dawna: “Diane was an incredible artist…she had a way of bringing the canyon walls to life…It has been an honor to know her, and she will be missed by all that knew her.” We want to share our gratitude for Diane and her unwavering support for Nine Mile Canyon over the last three decades.

We also want to send our deepest condolences and love to Diane’s husband, Fred, who was always by her side. ❤️
