What a fun afternoon! On Tuesday, May 19, humorist Scott Kerman spoke to a lively crowd in the Wakelin Room at the Wellesley Free Library. Drawing on his recent book, The Duke: Weekly Conversations with the Last Honest Politician, Scott used the sharp delivery he honed as a political and sports comedian to engage the audience in an entertaining, interactive presentation.

The audience was more than ready for the challenge, quickly answering questions about Michael Dukakis and the political world surrounding him. No political trivia from the past decades stumped the group! The talk prompted laughter, memories, and spirited conversation throughout the afternoon.

Catch our next gathering at the Wellesley Free Library. They are informative, entertaining, and a wonderful opportunity to enjoy lively conversation.

Tuesday, May 19, at 2:00 pm.
Join Wellesley Neighbors at the Wellesley Free Library for a special afternoon with author Scott Kerman as he discusses his book, The Duke: Weekly Conversations with the Last Honest Politician.

Over four years, Kerman met regularly with former Massachusetts governor and 1988 presidential candidate Michael Dukakis at Dukakis’s kitchen table in Brookline. Their conversations explored politics, public service, humor, personal stories, and reflections on character and leadership.

More than a political biography, The Duke offers a thoughtful and personal look at the friendship that developed through these weekly conversations. Kerman will share stories from the book, discuss what he learned from one of Massachusetts’s most recognizable public figures, and invite audience questions and discussion.

Expect an engaging, candid, and often humorous glimpse into the man behind the public life.

All are welcome. Bring a friend!
