I've never heard the word soul associated with our city and that frustrates me, says Catherine T. Morris, the founder of BAMSFest. In Boston, art is still a nicety, not a requirement, and Morris is on a mission to change how people experience the city.

Friends of Wellesley METCO is looking for a few people to join our board!

Our board consists of Wellesley and Boston parents/community members and WPS educators. FWMI’s mission is to help Wellesley’s METCO students make the most of the educational opportunities provided by the METCO program, and to help build bridges between WPS Boston and Wellesley students and their families.

We're hoping to find folks who would be interested in helping with our donor management database, our website/social media, and organizing occasional community-building events. Please reach out to Friendsofwellesleymetco@gmail. com with your interest and/or to learn more. Thank you!

The report found that the voluntary busing program has a host of measurable effects for participating students, including higher MCAS scores, college enrollment rates and lifetime earnings.
