There has been a LOT of speculation and rumor going around about our event. I want to clear a few things up. Wild Weippe Days is a legal non-profit organization ran by a whole committee just like any other. It is sponsored by many businesses and the people who help. Yes, the stage is next to The Elkhorn Tavern because it is centrally located in town. Yes, I Shawn Mattoon am the founder and president of the committee. However, it is NOT an Elkhorn event. It is a town event just like any other. NONE of the money raised for the event is put into the bar in any way. It ALL goes back to future funding of the event. We are not part of the rodeo. We do this event to bring back what rodeo weekend use to be. I don't gain anything by doing this other than seeing the smiles on everyone's faces . I know this is hard to believe for some, but there is NO other agenda behind it. It is a ton of work for everyone involved, and it is all done solely for the people. We meet once a month and are meeting are open to anyone that would like to attend. I encourage you to do so, especially if you want to know where all the money goes.
