2026 Winter planting has begun at Hotlum EcoRegeneration Camp! We are developing new strategies to protect young Trees from the hazards of growing up alone without adults to protect them. Hot summers without shade, cold winters with high winds without snow coverage, rodents, insects, and humans driving vehicles, all place these little upstarts in harms way. The snow drought of 2026 is another major concern.

If you would love to come camp and learn to love those who are growing into the responsibility we all have to Life, reach out.

Today is International Forests Day.

Forests are a nation unto themselves, yet they do not claim a nationality nor do they discriminate. They do not recognize national boundaries. They slowly migrate, and do not seek to take by force what is not shared. Is there competition in the Forest? Yes, yet it is in the spirit of collaboration. Every being in the Forest contributes far more than ki receives. The relationships are synergistic. Mutual aid is the norm. Each being shares kis life force for the benefit of the whole. In fact the Forest benefits the entire World. The Forest breathes Life into the World. Honoring our kin of the Forests of the World. Be like the Forest. Share your unique gifts with the World.

We need to let you all know that we are having a feast and celebration for Summer Solstice. It is a Caterpillar Convention and it is a private party ONLY for a select group of participants. If you are not a card carrying member of the 'Order of Lepidoptera' you unfortunately are not eligible for participation in thesefestivities. This is due to safety concerns for the participants in this subculture due to supremacy paradigms. NOTE: if you do not have a cylindrical body consisting of multiple segments, with three pairs of true legs on the thorax and several pairs of short, fleshy prolegs on the abdomen you are not able to attend. If your head does not have six eyes (stemmata) on each side that function in light detection but not in image formation, in other words 'if you are reading this,' you are not able to attend this event. If you do not have short segmented antennae you likely will feel out of place, i.e. lost in this group's activities anyways. If you don't have strong jaws and a voracious appetite you are not welcome to the feast and chrysalis formation after party. There will be other events in the future for those not able to participate this month due to this affirmative action being taken by Hotlum's administration.

In other more technical terms this is a private party for White-lined Sphinx Moth, Hyles lineata only.
