Webster Comfort Care Home

Webster Comfort Care Home A non-profit comfort care home, committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate end-of-life care.

A non-profit, community-based comfort care home, committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to the terminally ill, and their families, in a home like atmosphere. WCCHIt is our desire to allow our residents to live in a warm, loving home-like atmosphere of support and encouragement during their final months of life. We believe in the Hospice philosophy of care: all persons have the

right to die with dignity, to have an enhanced quality of life for the remainder of their days, and to be as comfortable and pain free as possible. Webster Comfort Care is a comprehensive and compassionate 2-bed home for the dying in the Webster community. It is a true home-like atmosphere, not a health care facility or a hospital. We ascribe to the hospice philosophy of care that states that all persons have the right to die with dignity, to have enhanced quality of life, and to be as comfortable as possible. Our primary goal is to provide comfort care, symptom control and pain management for our residents, as well as to be a source of respite care for the families.

We were so grateful to receive these beautiful words from the family of a recent resident.

Caring for someone at the end of life is an honor and a privilege, and we are thankful to have been able to support S.V. and her family throughout her journey.

Thank you for trusting us with your mother’s care and for reminding our staff and volunteers how much kindness, compassion, and a gentle heart can mean. Your words truly touched us.

We are deeply grateful for a donation made in loving memory of a recent resident.

It is a privilege to know that the care and comfort we were able to provide to F. and her family during her final days left such a meaningful impression. We are honored to carry her memory forward and incredibly thankful for the generosity and kindness of her family.

Thank you, P. and S., for remembering F. in such a beautiful way and for supporting our mission of providing compassionate, no-cost, end-of-life care.

We’re grateful to share this helpful resource from Aurora House (a Hospice House). There are many misconceptions about morphine and end-of-life care, and understanding the facts can help families feel more informed, supported, and at peace.

💜 Hospice Myths vs. Truth: Morphine Edition 💜

There are many misunderstandings about morphine in hospice care, and we believe education can help bring comfort and peace to families during difficult times. 🌿

❌ MYTH: Morphine is only given in the final moments of life.
✅ TRUTH: Morphine can be used at different stages to help manage pain, ease shortness of breath, and improve comfort and quality of life.

❌ MYTH: Morphine “hastens” death.
✅ TRUTH: When used appropriately and carefully by healthcare professionals, morphine is intended to relieve suffering and provide comfort — not to speed up the dying process.

❌ MYTH: Morphine is only for cancer patients.
✅ TRUTH: Morphine may help people with many serious illnesses, including heart disease, COPD, and other conditions that cause pain or breathing difficulties.

❌ MYTH: Taking morphine means giving up hope.
✅ TRUTH: Hospice care focuses on comfort, dignity, and making each moment as peaceful and meaningful as possible.

Morphine is one of many tools used in compassionate end-of-life care to help people feel more comfortable, breathe easier, and rest peacefully. 💙

Questions about hospice care or comfort medications? We’re always here to help educate and support our community.
