Lap Robes for Veterans SO MANY VETERANS... SEW LITTLE TIME Since our inception in 2007, we have had the privilege to providing over 15,000 Lap Robes to Veterans.

In the Greater Rochester, NY Community and surrounding counties, we provide lap robes for:
*Individual Veterans
*Veterans in nursing Homes, hospice and area hospitals such as Monroe Community Hospital
*Honor Flight Rochester
*Gold Star and Blue Star Mothers
*and much more! Despite COVID in 2020 we distributed over 1,000 Lap Robes. What started as a woman with a passion to thank our men and women

that have served so selflessly has now grown to many very dedicated sewers! This year when faced with closing down as our founder moved out of state two very talented and gifted volunteers stood up to continue on Lap Robes for Veterans. Every Lap Robe is made with Love for our Veterans.

Our annual Veterans Exhibit makes a return this November! Curated by Yards Member and Army Veteran Gary Redlinski, and Yards Director Kristina Kaiser, these shows have been a wonderful space to gather deeply moving artworks by local veterans.

We are seeking pieces for this show, to be displayed November 6th-14th at The Yards. All submissions are due by October 15th. Artists can submit up to 3 works of a variety of media. Learn more and submit your work below.

Today, Pat and Bill Verhagen were able to meet the pilots of U.S. Airforce Thunderbirds at The Ontario Golf Club in Ontario, NY! Thank you to Sean, the club owner, for letting them meet these incredible individuals, each were presented with an Airforce Lap Robe.

Thank you to these men and women for their service and amazing skills.

They can be seen this weekend at the 2026 AP Property Services Airshow.

Thanks to Volunteers Joan and Debbie who assisted, along with Pat V. our Leader! (Sorry, no picture of Debbie!)

Thanks to the Avon American Legion for inviting us and for their assistance in setting up a table for us in the am inside the legion. Then setting up a canopy and table outside for us as well, when they finished serving breakfast!

It’s was a great event! Thanks to all the folks that stopped by to chat and also donated!
