Anne Frank, a young girl whose life was tragically cut short, left behind one of the most powerful legacies in history. In her famous diary, she wrote, “Human greatness does not lie in wealth or power, but in character and goodness.” These words, spoken from someone who endured unimaginable hardships, remind us that true greatness is measured not by what we have, but by who we are and how we treat others.

Anne’s message is a stark reminder that in a world obsessed with material success, the most important thing we can cultivate is our character. She spent her final years hiding in fear, but she never lost sight of what truly mattered: kindness, integrity, and compassion. These values transcend time, reminding us all that the pursuit of wealth and power is hollow if it isn’t accompanied by goodness and humanity.

In a society that often elevates the rich and powerful, Anne’s words resonate as a call to look inward. Are we living with kindness and compassion? Are we elevating those around us, or just looking out for ourselves? True greatness lies not in the accolades we receive, but in the legacy we leave through our actions and our impact on others.

Anne Frank’s wisdom is timeless, and it’s a reminder that greatness doesn’t need to come with fame or fortune. It comes from living with integrity, standing up for what is right, and showing love and respect to everyone, regardless of their circumstances. Let’s honor her memory by striving to live with character and goodness every day. 🕊️💛

Thank you, Rev. Lukata Lumumje, for recalling Marianne Williamson’s wisdom ❤️🐬👣

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.”

American Airlines honored Bessie Coleman’s 100-year legacy by featuring an all-Black female crew on a flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Phoenix. This historic flight celebrated Coleman's pioneering spirit, the first Black woman to earn a pilot’s license, and showcased 36 women in aviation roles. The airline’s dedication to diversifying the industry continues with its Cadet Academy and community outreach.

The Owls Club was a Black women's softball team formed in the late 1930s in Seattle. The Owls won the first women's Washington State Softball Championship in 1938, playing at Sick's Stadium which went on to become the site of Rainier Avenue Lowe's.
The team, renamed the Brown Bombers, won the Championship again in 1939. Left handed pitcher Lillian Brown struck out 12 batters on the Manette team in the Championship game at the Civic Field which went on to become the site of Memorial Stadium.

I dream a world where man

No other man will scorn,

Where love will bless the earth

And peace its paths adorn

I dream a world where all

Will know sweet freedom's way,

Where greed no longer saps the soul

Nor avarice blights our day.

A world I dream where black or white,

Whatever race you be,

Will share the bounties of the earth

And every man is free,

Where wretchedness will hang its head

And joy, like a pearl,

Attends the needs of all mankind-

Of such I dream, my world!

Have you ever thought about this?

In 100 years like in 2123 we will all be buried with our relatives and friends.

Strangers will live in our homes we fought so hard to build, and they will own everything we have today. All our possessions will be unknown and unborn, including the car we spent a fortune on, and will probably be scrap, preferably in the hands of an unknown collector.

Our descendants will hardly or hardly know who we were, nor will they remember us. How many of us know our grandfather's father?

After we die, we will be remembered for a few more years, then we are just a portrait on someone's bookshelf, and a few years later our history, photos and deeds disappear in history's oblivion. We won't even be memories.

If we paused one day to analyse these questions, perhaps we would understand how ignorant and weak the dream to achieve it all was.

If we could only think about this, surely our approaches, our thoughts would change, we would be different people.

Always having more, no time for what's really valuable in this life. I'd change all this to live and enjoy the walks I've never taken, these hugs I didn't give, these kisses for our children and our loved ones, these jokes we didn't have time for. Those would certainly be the most beautiful moments to remember, after all they would fill our lives with joy.

And some of us waste it day after day with greed, selfishness and intolerance.

Every minute of life is priceless and will never be repeated, so take time to enjoy, be grateful for, and celebrate your existence.

Is calling one another a villain, name calling, and self righteousness the only way to have the sacred conversations on justice in Israel-Palestine?❤️🐬👣

Some alumni want the president to resign. They are angry about a Palestinian conference and Penn’s response to the Hamas attacks — as well as D.E.I. and transgender rights.
