Hello all! Youth Council Registration is now open!

About the program: Youth ages 14-17 will have the opportunity to gain leadership skills, improve their communities, and participate in positive youth development opportunities through membership on the St. Croix Tribal Youth Council. Through their collective advocacy and action, the youth can serve as a catalyst to bring about positive change for the Tribe.

Stipends: Members of the Youth Tribal Council will be eligible for a stipend. The stipend amount will be dependent upon their participation in meetings facilitated by the Youth Program Coordinator and participation in approved opportunities/activities.
The estimated stipend amount for the 26-27 season is expected to be up to $100 per month. The final stipend information for the 26-27 season, including eligible activities and official activity logs will be available during each Youth Council Meeting.

Transportation: Youth members and/or parents/guardians are responsible for youth transportation to meetings. Transportation can be requested through the Community Coordinators or Community Transporters.

This week, 13 Ojibwe adult language learners stepped into something powerful: a full-time immersion journey dedicated to building fluency, strengthening community, and bringing Ojibwemowin into everyday life. For the first time, these 13 learners are spending their days learning, speaking, listening, laughing, making mistakes, trying again—and living the language together.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the first week of the Oshki-ojibwemowag Adult Immersion Program and the 13 people who have taken this step. Miigwech to the families, Tribal communities, partners, teachers, and supporters who are helping make this possible.
