Contrary to the audio, Lyles is not vicious. šŸ˜‚

He’s actually a goofy, happy-go-lucky guy who is just excited to be included.

Lyles has spent most of his life in shelters, passing through multiple organizations before eventually making his way to Lifeline. Despite all that waiting, he still greets each day with enthusiasm and hasn’t lost his love for people.

He’s energetic, playful, and has done well with the dogs we’ve introduced him to so far. If your ideal weekend includes hikes, walks, dog-friendly patios, or any kind of adventure, Lyles would love to tag along.

What we’d really love, though, is for Lyles to finally experience life as someone’s dog instead of another day in a kennel.

Ready to meet Lyles?

Apply to adopt him here:

Not ready to adopt? Ask us about taking Lyles on a two-night sleepover. We think he’ll win you over pretty quickly. šŸ’›šŸ¾

Willa and Kitty Cat didn’t expect to be starting over.

These two sweet adult cats recently came into our care after their owner was no longer able to keep them. Like many owner-surrendered pets, they arrived confused, scared, and unsure of what came next.

But with a little time and patience, their true personalities have started to shine.

Today, they’re social, affectionate, and ready to find a family to call their own.

While we’d love to see them stay together, our priority is finding great homes as quickly as possible and minimizing the amount of time they spend in a shelter environment. Cats are incredibly sensitive to change, and shelter life can be stressful, especially for adult cats who are used to having a home.

That said, if you’re looking for two built-in best friends, we do have a special available:

🐱 Adopt one, and the second cat’s adoption fee is half off.

Whether you’re a first-time cat owner looking for the perfect pair or already have cat-friendly felines at home, Willa and Kitty Cat could be a wonderful addition to your family.

Sylvester, the blind cat, and his sister Barbara are still looking for their forever home. šŸ’™

These sweet, affectionate siblings have been in foster care since March and have had little to no interest, which is heartbreaking because they truly are wonderful cats.

For a brief time, they stayed at the adoption center, but Sylvester’s blindness made the shelter environment especially stressful. Having spent their entire lives together in a home, moving them into foster was the best decision for their well-being. Since then, they have been thriving.

Today’s highlight? Sylvester Stallone’s favorite activity: helping with laundry. 🧺😹 Whether he’s supervising the dryer, investigating freshly folded clothes, or claiming the laundry basket as his throne, he’s always ready to lend a paw.

Barbara is just as sweet. She loves affection, cozy naps, and keeping a close eye on her brother’s adventures. Together, they are gentle, loving companions who have spent their entire lives side by side.

The downside of foster care is that fewer people get to see them. They no longer have visitors walking past their kennel each day, which means they rely on social media shares and word of mouth to find their family.

Please help us spread the word. These two have already been through so much change, and we would love nothing more than to see them find a forever home together.

The perfect family for Barbara and Sylvester is out there. Let’s help them find it. šŸ¾šŸ’™

The saddest thing about John Paul isn’t his past.

It’s how long he’s been overlooked.

At just 3 years old, John Paul has been in the shelter system since 2024. While other dogs have found families, couches, and people to call their own, John Paul has continued to wait.

And honestly? We don’t understand why.

We transferred him into our program yesterday, and despite the huge change, he’s been nothing short of amazing. New environment, new people, new routines—John Paul has handled it all with grace.

We’re also told he’s done well with dogs and kids, which could make him a wonderful addition to a family looking for a loyal companion.

The reality is that John Paul has spent enough time waiting.

We’re excited to have him in our program, but our goal is to find him a home as quickly as possible so he can finally experience the life every dog deserves.

Ready to meet John Paul?

Apply to adopt him here:

Not ready to adopt? Consider hosting him for a two-night sleepover. A weekend away from the shelter can make a huge difference for a dog who’s spent so much time in one.

Let’s make sure John Paul’s next chapter includes a family. šŸ’›šŸ¾

Meet Midas. šŸ–¤

At 2½ years old, Midas is cute, cuddly, and firmly believes that pets should always come before food.

Which is saying something, because judging by his figure, this handsome boy certainly doesn’t look like he’s missed many meals. 😹

What he may have missed, though, is the chance to have a family of his own.

Midas is affectionate, loves attention, and is ready to trade shelter life for a couch, a sunny window, and a human who appreciates the special magic of black cats.

Unfortunately, black cats are often overlooked in shelters, and we’re hoping our fellow void lovers can help change that.

So we’re calling on the black cat enthusiasts of the internet:

šŸ–¤ Share this post.
šŸ–¤ Tag a black cat lover.
šŸ–¤ Help Midas find his people.

Not every cat gets the best start in life.

These three certainly didn’t.

But despite whatever challenges they’ve faced along the way, they’ve remained incredibly affectionate, loving, and eager for human companionship. They’re the kind of cats who want to be near their people, soak up attention, and remind you every day just how grateful they are for a second chance.

Now they’re ready for the next chapter: a home of their own.

If you’ve been thinking about adding a feline friend to your family, come meet these little love bugs and see if one steals your heart.

Not ready to adopt? How about a two-night sleepover?

One of the biggest challenges we face when we’re over capacity is kennel space. That’s where our dog sleepover program comes in.

By taking a dog home for just a weekend, or even a couple of nights, you give them a much-needed break from shelter life. They get to relax, stretch out on a couch, enjoy one-on-one attention, and experience what it’s like to be part of a family, even if only temporarily.

And you’d be surprised how much we can learn in just 48 hours.

Sleepovers help us discover how dogs behave in a home environment, what they enjoy, what routines work best for them, and what type of adopter might be the perfect fit.

Some sleepovers turn into adoptions. Others simply give a dog a chance to recharge before returning to the shelter.

Either way, it makes a difference.

If you’ve been thinking about fostering but aren’t ready for a long-term commitment, a dog sleepover is a great way to get involved and help save lives.

Apply here:

Even two nights can change a dog’s week, and sometimes their future.
