Meet our headliners for tomorrow’s St. Louis Grassroots Arts and Music Festival. Going on at 4pm and fresh off of their Grand Ole Opry debut, meet Jigjam!

This Offaly and Tipperary-born band have started The first wave of attack in the new Irish invasion of Americana with a brand new band member from Glasgow injecting the magic of Scottish folk music ‘Foot stomping’, ‘high energy’ and lots of fun is what you’re in for when you see this musical powerhouse live in concert. Founding members from Offaly Jamie McKeogh (Lead singer and guitar) and Daithi Melia (5 String Banjo and Dobro) were joined by Tipperary-born Gavin Strappe (Mandolin and Tenor Banjo) in 2016. This year they are joined by Glasgow native Danny Hunter (Fiddle) to make up this iGrass (Irish Bluegrass) quartet.

Meet our band kicking our whole festival off at 11:00 AM! Even more fun, this is their debut performance as a group! Meet Old Town Poser:

Old Town Poser is excited for their debut performance at the St. Louis Grassroots Arts & Music Festival! The band, consisting of Ian Buschmann (mandolin/saxophone), Amber Kelso (piano), Ashby Laws (accordion/piano), and Blake Mickens (bass/guitar) was formed from these four friends bringing together each of their unique musical taste and specialties rather than abiding by a strict genre according to their instrumentation. As such, you can expect to hear each member shine on their instruments as well as trading off on lead vocals on songs from bands like The Eagles, Tears For Fears, Fleetwood Mac, and even originals.

This dynamic duo is something you won't want to miss. Growing up in St. Louis, Missouri, Kevin Buckley started taking Irish fiddle lessons at the age of 9 and spent his subsequent teenage years performing and competing all over the US and Ireland, establishing himself as a valued proponent of Irish traditional music. Dan Lowery is a flute player from Texas. He currently lives in St. Louis, Missouri, and has been playing Irish music professionally for the past twenty years, performing with The Bronx Boys, The Colin Farrell Band, Warbelow Range, Derek Warfield, and in the Broadway musical Come From Away.

Playing at 2:45! Meet our next band highlight for our St. Louis Grassroots Arts and Music Festival, LOGE! Here is their bio:

LOGE is a musical group formed in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2021. Generally categorized as an alternative jam band, LOGE are known for their extended musical improvisations, blending of multiple genres, and strong connection to their audience. The band consists of guitarist Sam Avery, bassist Erik Ferguson, and drummer J.J. Jasper.

We will be doing band highlights all this week! Check out our first band we are highlighting! Saint Chuck, here is their bio:

Saint Chuck, a local band here in St. Louis, started in 2022 as a group of friends who just liked to jam. They enjoyed playing together so much that they brought their music to the road, and they can often be found playing in bars and wineries in and around the St. Louis area. Though they started as purely a cover band, they have since written their own songs, many of which you will hear today! They look forward to sharing their music with you, and they hope you dance and have fun!

We are SO excited for our music festival on May 7th. Here is a all star line up that we have set for our festival.

In addition to this amazing group of musicians, we will also be raffling off an item from one of our local St. Louis partners at the end of each set! You won’t want to miss any of it!

Had a wonderful opportunity to visit studio today! They gave us some cool stickers and other merchandise to hand out to folks at our St. Louis Grassroots Arts and Music Festival on May 7th. For the next two weeks stay tuned into 88.1 and you might hear an ad promoting our festival from a familiar voice!

Our St. Louis-Dupree exchange program is an intercultural competency learning opportunity in partnership with the Lakota nation and the on the Cheyenne River Reservation. We offer this two week program for little to no cost for all our exchange program members. On May 7th at the St. Louis Grassroots Arts and Music Festival, all of the money raised will go to support our program for 2023! Mark it on your calendar and share with your friends, we hope to see you there!

We are so excited to be hosting our St. Louis Grassroots Arts and Music festival at Gazebo park in Webster Groves! It’s going to be a great outdoor location for a Sunday afternoon festival! May 7th, 11:00 AM- 5:00 PM. We will be announcing the bands soon! You won’t want to miss it.
