Missouri Faith Voices

Missouri Faith Voices Missouri Faith Voices: Unlocking the Power of People We value the racial, ethnic, religious and regional diversity that has shaped American society.

Values:

We believe in the potential for transformation - of people, institutions, and of our larger culture - and the power of people of faith to lead this transformation. We believe that government can play a vital role in improving society, and that civic leaders and organizations need to claim the power to shape policy and hold public officials accountable. We believe that religion can bring u

s together rather than divide us; that our varied faith traditions inform and inspire us to make our communities and state better places to live. Goals:

•Build and equip a state-wide inter-religious table of clergy to positively address concerns of congregations & communities.

•Facilitate the building of relationships across congregations and communities and with decision and policymakers in order to establish mutual respect and influence on issues of concern.

•Train lay and clergy leaders with tools to effectively work together to affect public policy, influence budget decisions and create innovative programs that build on the authority of their respective faith traditions and respond to the stories of their people.

•Educate and inform the larger interfaith community in Missouri and the nation on issues of social justice that affect the families and individuals of our communities.
