Did you know Hamilton County 4-H and FFA members can ALREADY sign up to participate in the Hamilton County Fair Bonus Auction? The bonus auction is not merit-based, so any livestock exhibitor can register anytime leading up to the Sunday of fair. Sign up today and check that "to-do" of your list!

What is the Bonus Auction? A cash premium sale (“bonus auction”) for all Hamilton County 4-H & FFA livestock exhibitors on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 9:00AM in the Show Arena. Exhibitors receive "bids" from local organizations and individuals, and all proceeds go directly to that youth! No animals are brought to the auction or sold.

Rain may have delayed our plans, but it didn’t dampen the fun!

Our Junior Summer Trip started with a tour of Hansen’s Dairy Farm in Hudson, where youth got an up-close look at dairy farming and agriculture in action. Since the weather pushed back our Lost Island Waterpark adventures, we made an extra stop at the John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum to explore the history and innovation behind one of agriculture’s most recognizable brands.

Thankfully, the skies cleared, and we made it to Lost Island! The youth were having so much fun that we completely forgot to take photos once we got there.

A great day filled with learning, exploring, and making memories together!

Our Slime Science Workshop was a gooey success! 🧪✨

Youth explored the science behind slime by creating three different types of slime and learning how ingredients work together to create unique textures and reactions. The fun didn’t stop there—participants also got the chance to design and create their very own custom slime using colors, mix-ins, and creative combinations!

From stretchy to fluffy to sparkly, everyone had a blast experimenting, learning, and getting a little messy along the way. Thank you to all who joined us for this hands-on STEM adventure! 💚

Poultry Exhibitors: Don't Forget Pullorum Testing!

All poultry that will be exhibited at the Hamilton County Fair or the Iowa State Fair must attend Pullorum-Typhoid Testing.

Saturday, June 27
8:00 AM
Hamilton County Fairgrounds

If a bird does not attend testing, it will not be eligible to exhibit at the county or state fair.

Families only need to bring their birds—no paperwork is required at the time of testing.

Please help us spread the word and ensure your birds are tested before fair season begins!
