Good morning! We wanted to share a few updates with you.
I spoke with Alice this week and she has been sick with pneumonia. She said that they have had very heavy rains and lots of people have been sick with malaria or other sickness.
They are expecting more heavy rains and there is fear of people losing their homes.
Also due to the heavy rains we have had to put our chicken project on hold. We were advised that if we bring in chickens at this time the risk is very high of them getting sick and not surviving. So until we get the all clear, we will put that project on hold. We are excited to begin this as we know the return this will bring to help feed our children. Keep this in prayer as we make preparations for our chickens to arrive.
We have a water holding tank in Bunyore that is in need of being replaced. It’s got a crack in it and we did have it looked at but was told it’s beyond a patch job. So we were able to send the funds today to replace that.
We have a couple toilets that are full and needing emptied and we were also able to send the funds today to have that work done.
We also have a solar pump at Kakamega that has broken and cannot be repaired. We are awaiting a bid to know how much a new one will cost.
We are so thankful for those of you who continue to pour into Overcoming Children either through prayer or finances. We are grateful for all of your support!
