Repair Cafes are events where you’ll find volunteers with tools and supplies, offering free repairs.

Today's the day: A Repair Cafe and open house for our Tool Library from 4-7pm in Burnsville.

WNC Repair Cafe is visiting the Dig In Tool Sharing Library for an afternoon of repairing tools and household items. Guests are encouraged to bring broken household objects – small appliances, torn clothing, heirloom objects, almost anything! – to repair events where qualified volunteers will help guide you through the repair process.

This is also a great opportunity to visit our Tool Sharing Library and see what it’s all about! We'll have the library open for y'all to explore our tools and ask questions about membership and rentals.

WNC Repair Cafe is headed to Jackson County next weekend to join volunteers from the new Sylva Repair Cafe for their first event at the Jackson county dept of aging (near Lowe's in sylva)

If you can bring it to us, we'll fix it free. Including small appliances, furniture, electrical items, tools, sewing, small engines, bicycles, heirlooms and more.

Yall have been asking for more community repair in Western counties and volunteer organizers in Sylva are stepping up. And, if that wasn't cool enough, this first Sylva repair cafe event happens to fall on this year's

Its so cool to be a part of this growing global movement right here in WNC!!

Yancey County!

Next Monday, from 4:00-7:00, we'll be working alongside volunteers from Dig In Yancey at their tool library at St. Thomas Episcopal church. If you can bring it us, we'll fix it for free.

Big changes to our fall 2026 schedule:

Dig In Yancey repair has been bumped up to Monday 10/12

We're coming to Sylva on 10/17!!!

Sorry, the Black Mountain public library needs the space for early voting, so we'll have to cancel our October 22 sewing event

We're coming back to the Haywood Senior Center in November!!

BRING US YOUR BROKEN STUFF!

You've got two options for free repairs in Western NC this week:

***Thursday, 9/17, from 5:00-8:00 at the Weaverville community center. Bring us your sewing, tools, appliances, furniture, electrical items and heirlooms. And, for the first time, we're offering BOOK repair!!

***Saturday, 9/19, from 10:00-2:00 at the Willow building at Haywood Community College. Bring small engines, furniture,sewing, tools, appliances, heirlooms and electrical items. We can even handle some JEWELRY repair too!

Attendance at our repair cafes has doubled in recent months. This is a good thing - we're busier than ever but we could use some more help! Who do you know who would enjoy spending a few hours every other month fixing things for their neighbors?

Tom was among the first WNC repair cafe volunteers, 8 years ago, when we met for quarterly repair events at a farm in Mills River. So it felt like a bit of a homecoming last week to work alongside Tom and all the Blue Ridge Repair Cafe volunteers at Caja Solidaria in Mills River.

Pictured here: Tom taking full advantage of the Caja Solodaria Henderson County Tool Library to pull off this impressive fix on a chest of drawers. Efforts like this made it possible to fix 47 items with a 93% success rate.

Now in its third year, this FREE afterschool program is returning for more immersive, hands-on skills-based education in all things repair. Starting on September 8, we'll be meeting on Tuesdays from 2:30-4:30 at the Willow building on the Haywood Community College campus.

Under the guidance WNC Repair Cafe volunteers, students will be fixing lamps, vacuum cleaners, garden tools, kitchen appliances, bicycles, sewing, sharpening cutting tools and more.

Did you know Henderson County has a new tool library at Caja Solidaria in Mills River?!

Did you know our friends at Blue Ridge Repair Cafe are organizing repair workshops in Henderson and Transylvania counties?!

Next Saturday, bring your broken stuff to 75 Bryson Rd in Mills River where we'll work alongside our friends to the south who are doing great work in their communities

If you can bring it to us, we'll fix it for free

Volunteers are returning to Haywood Community College from 10-2, this Saturday, 7/18, fixing all things electrical, small engines, small appliances, antiques, heirlooms and furniture repairs. Sorry, no sewing repairs this time.
