Today is about remembrance.

About honoring the men and women who never made it home, and carrying forward the stories, sacrifices, and legacy they left behind.

A brother of ours put those thoughts into words better than most of us ever could. We’re honored to share this poem with you today as a reminder of why Memorial Day matters.

Please take a moment to read, reflect, and remember.

Memorial Day Blessing

We are the witnesses. We carry the memories of those who have gone past. We walk in the light as they proceed into the shadows. We wrestle with angels as they go forward and meet them. We ponder our God as they go to see his face.

Those who are gone were ours and may we remember them with honor. Looking back on each shining moment and looking past each broken one, we speak their names in solemnity. They deserve our remembrance.

For those still here: it is not our turn. We have work to do. We honor their legacy and build our own as our days drag on. We are a breath and a v***r, a foot and a mile, a tree and a seed. We continue forward, hoping and yearning, for an impactful work to set our hands to. To make our world a better place and to keep our minds set on things beyond.

May we be the kinds of men who honor our fathers and raise our sons. May we be the kind of men that lean on our brothers and shoulder their burdens. May we be remembered as we remember those we've lost.

We came together in remembrance, gratitude, and fellowship at our Memorial Day Remembrance Gathering and Dinner over the weekend. 🇺🇸

It was incredible to see our veteran community and their families come together to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Moments like these remind us how important it is to support one another, strengthen the bonds within our community, and ensure our combat veterans and their families always have a place where they feel valued, connected, and cared for.

Events like this remind us what makes the BCV family so special — standing together, remembering together, and supporting one another.

A huge thank you to United Way of Parker County for their generous support and for helping make this meaningful event possible. Your partnership and commitment to our veteran community truly make a difference.

It’s been a few weeks since Big Country Veterans’ Annual Helicopter Weekend, and we’re still feeling the impact. A huge thank you to the Redneck Culinary Academy RCA - Wichita County, Tx.—your incredible food helped create a sense of togetherness that made the weekend truly unforgettable. On behalf of Big Country Veterans, our CEO was honored to present them with a plaque in recognition of their outstanding contributions. We are so grateful for all they do and the lasting impact they have on everyone who attends. Thank you!
