🎨 Calling All Creators at Weatherford High School & NGC! 🎨

It's time to let your creativity shine! The 2026–2027 National PTA Reflections Arts Competition is here, and we want YOU to participate!

This year's theme is "What My Culture Means to Me." We encourage students to explore what culture means to them and express their creativity through art!

Students can enter in the following categories:

🎨 Visual Arts – Drawing, painting, sculpture, and more
📸 Photography – Capture your perspective through a lens
🎵 Music Composition – Create your own original music
💃 Dance Choreography – Tell your story through movement
🎬 Film Production – Bring your ideas to life on screen
📖 Literature – Express yourself through creative writing
🌟 Accessible Arts Division – An alternative entry option for students with disabilities

📅 DEADLINE: OCTOBER 29, 2026

IMPORTANT: At least one person in the student's household must be a PTA member to participate. Parents, guardians, and students are all welcome to join our PTA! Membership is just $10 for the school year.

We absolutely love our principal, Dr. Tommaney, or as we affectionately know him as Dr. T. He supports our school, Weatherford High School, and shows up to just about everything under the sun. There is no telling where you will see him next! He makes sure to go to football games, track and field events, choir concerts, band concerts, and just about any other group event you can think of. We are so grateful to have a principal that cares. Thank you for being you Dr. T!

We’re celebrating Weatherford High School Principal Dr. Bill Tommaney during National Principals Month! 💙🦘

Dr. Tommaney, known to many as Dr. T., is in his fifth year leading WHS, where he works alongside staff to create opportunities that help students succeed in high school and beyond.

Today is Custodian Appreciation Day and the Weatherford High School and NGC PTA honored our amazing custodians at both the high school and the NGC with Bundlets from Nothing Bundt Cake. We want to give them a huge shout out for keeping our campuses nice and clean all year round.

Texas PTA scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors and current faculty members planning to continue their education. Visit www.txpta.org/scholarships to review guidelines, learn how to apply, and download the Scholarship Toolkit.

🎨✨ Calling All Student Artists, Writers, Musicians, Photographers & Creators! ✨🎨

The 2026–2027 Texas PTA Reflections Contest is here, and we can’t wait to see how our students bring this year’s theme to life:

🌟 “What My Culture Means to Me” 🌟

Reflections gives students the opportunity to express their creativity through original artwork inspired by the annual theme. Students can enter in one or more of the following categories:

🎨 Visual Arts
📸 Photography
✍️ Literature
🎵 Music Composition
🎬 Film Production
💃 Dance Choreography

There is also an Accessible Arts Division to help ensure students with disabilities have the opportunity to fully participate.

Students can interpret “What My Culture Means to Me” in so many different ways — through family traditions, heritage, music, food, community, memories, values, experiences, or anything else that helps tell the story of who they are.

📅 All projects must be turned in to your home campus no later than October 29!

And this isn’t just a local contest! Qualifying entries can advance from the local level to Texas PTA and even on to National PTA recognition.

We encourage ALL of our student creators to participate. Whether you love to draw, write, dance, compose music, take photographs, or make films, this is your chance to share your voice and show us what your culture means to you.

We cannot wait to see what our talented Roos create! 💙🖤🤍

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth today at Roo Walkabout. We enjoyed talking with each and everyone of you. If you didn't get a chance to join today, no worries, there is still plenty of time! Each membership is $10, and we highly recommend signing up both parent and student (or the whole family!). The students will earn points towards their graduation cords just by joining. They can also earn points (40 total are needed by senior year) by attending meetings, doing volunteer work, being on the board of a school sanctioned club or group and more!

Parents, joining doesn't mean you have to volunteer, it just means you are showing your support for our school. We do encourage you to attend meetings and be a voice for your family. Our first meeting is September 14th at 6:30 in the cafeteria. We hope to see you there!
