On October 3, 2026, XMX Defense broke ground at Mineral Wells Regional Airport. The event marked the beginning of XMX Defense operations in Mineral Wells and also established the Texas Unmanned Systems Defense Center of Excellence.

Parker County Economic Development Council is proud to play a part in restoring defense aviation in Mineral Wells. While many are aware, Fort Wolters was THE U.S. Army Helicopter Pilot Training location from 1956 until its deactivation in 1975. According to the Texas State Historical Association, Fort Wolters trained over 40,000 helicopter pilots throughout the Vietnam War.

Please join us in welcoming XMX Defense to the City of Mineral Wells and Parker County.

Parker County Judge Pat Deen and County Commissioners held a Special Commissioners Court today, June 09, 2026, regarding Data Centers in Parker County. The video is now posted to the Parker County website (link in comments) for anyone that was unable to attend the special session or watch live.

A reminder for Parker County residents, all Commissioners Courts can be live streamed during public sessions and the sessions are posted afterwards. Additionally, you can sign up on the Parker County page to receive Commissioner Court agendas directly to your email.

Please share this information with anyone that may be unaware of these options to stay informed on matters within Parker County.

Save the date: Tuesday, June 23, 2026!

TxDOT is hosting an open house to discuss I-20 Frontage Roads from FM 2552 to East Bankhead Highway.

You can scan the QR code on their flyer for project details, watch a recorded presentation, and provide feedback either in-person at the open house or digitally.

Our TxDOT Regional team wants to hear from the community. Let's all show up and support the team as they work on our behalf to ease traffic congestion and create the safest transportation avenues for our families.

Frustrated with traffic, who isn't these days? With how much our Parker County population has grown, traffic can be a real pain in the you know what!

Whether you're commuting to work in Fort Worth, trying to get to a specialty doctor appointment, or wanting to travel and meet friends outside of Parker County, we have an expectation that we can do so with minimal frustrations and not having to leave the house two hours before we need to be somewhere. We also have the expectation that when an accident or medical emergency happens, our Emergency Services are able to respond quickly.

Parker County Chamber of Commerce's next Membership Luncheon is March 11, 2026, at New River Fellowship! Program to begin at 11:45am.

Mr. Chadwick Dabbs, Area Engineer for TxDOT Parker and Palo Pinto County Area Office, will be speaking on transportation projects in our local area.

While this luncheon is for Members, you don't have to be a member to attend! Visit the Parker County Chamber of Commerce website (posted in comments), Calendar, select the Member Luncheon on March 11th and register.

Lunch will be catered by Brenda's Catering, buffet opens at 11:20am, and the menu looks delicious.
