Weatherford High School Key Club

Weatherford High School Key Club WHS Key Club is a local service organization for high schoolers. Key Club is an international organization sponsored by Kiwanis.

Our club does all sorts of things to help out charities, support our local Kiwanis Club, and interact with and serve the people in our own commmunity. We organize several service projects throughout the year. We do an annual SPUD Week every May at our school in which we hold fun events for our fellow students. For example, we would have a movie day to allow students to get out of their afternoon c

lasses to watch a movie for a small fee. We have activities every day of SPUD Week. The est part is picking a recipient in our community to whom we give all of the funds we raise. Our mission is, quite honestly, just to find ourselves and help others through service.

The Texas-Oklahoma Kiwanis District has a “Point Club” in Conroe, TX that will take all the disaster relief materials. We have ordered many pallets of personal care items for people in shelters as well as many cases of school supplies for kids that have lost those items due to the hurricane and resulting floods. Sharon and Bob Singleton are our contact Kiwanians in Conroe.
Clubs that want to donate funds can send them to the District Disaster Relief account via the Paypal button on the TX-OK Kiwanis website www.txokkiwanis.org or can send a check to the District HQ, 3010 W Park Row Drive, Suite 100, Pantego, Texas 76013.
If your club has materials to donate, they can go to Conroe or contact us as we plan to create a “staging area” north of Dallas and then transfer all the materials down in pickup trucks or trailers.
If you have any questions about items or a way your club can help, you can contact the Disaster Relief Chairman, Marshall Kregel [email protected].
