Freedom House is a non-profit agency in Weatherford, TX that provides free services to survivors of violence.

We provide shelter, advocacy, and counseling to help our clients in their healing journey.

Freedom House, representatives from the Parker County Attorney’s Office, and members of Zonta attended the Parker County Commissioners Court meeting on October 12 as the Court proclaimed October Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

We appreciate our community partners’ commitment to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and working together to end domestic violence.

Our October Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is in less than three weeks! We would love to have any local law enforcement join us from 10am-1pm on October 29th at Freedom House. We look forward to hosting you with food, drink and company as a thank you for all your service to Parker County.

Today, we recognize the Day of Unity and the roots of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month traces its history to the Day of Unity, first observed in October 1981 as a way to connect advocates working to end domestic violence across the country.

What began as a single day grew into a week of activities, and in October 1987, the first Domestic Violence Awareness Month was observed nationwide.

More than four decades later, the Day of Unity continues to bring communities together to honor survivors, remember those whose lives have been lost to domestic violence, and stand together for a future free from abuse. 💜

To infinity...and beyond! National Night Out is Tuesday October 6th from 5pm-8pm at Heritage Park. Join us, and many other local partners for a FREE night of family fun. There will be a corn maze, inflatables, live Toy Story characters, free hot dogs and more. The event is hosted by the incredible Weatherford Police Department, Texas and it's a night you won't want to miss!
