This is Knick(or Knack).

He(or she) came out of Graham in 2022 and both of them have never warmed up to us…at all.

At that time Graham had no options for ferals caught by animal control, so we tried to take as many as we could. They have a TNR program now!

I think they are so pretty, and I think they enjoy it here…especially when we are not around!

This is Hoss.

He was urgent at the Arlington shelter for being FeLV and FIV positive.

In April of 2023, just a year after we started Cupids Animal Haven, we tagged this boy and brought him to our FeLV+ house.

He’s been surprisingly healthy, an occasional URI. But otherwise he is just a laid back, sweet boy.

At the time, he had $427 in pledges to save him, which was not bad, but at an average cost of around $300 per cat per year those funds are long gone.

That is really the big difference between a traditional rescue and a sanctuary. We don’t take them in and adopt them out…we give them homes for their lifetimes. It’s hard enough to find placement for healthy cats, much less ones with medical issues like Hoss.

We are always, and I mean always, in need of funds for food, vet care and cat supplies. If you love what we do, please consider supporting Cupid’s Animal Haven.

We are a 501c3 non-profit and we are fully volunteer run which means every dollar we raise goes to the care and feeding of the cats!

Cutie teensy tiny tortie!

This is Dot. She is right at 4 months old.

She and her siblings are headed off to an adoption rescue as soon as they all clear ringworm.

She is incredibly outgoing, loves pets and is just an all around sweetie pie.

He showed up at our second TNR project way back in 2022. We caught him and got him fixed which is when I found out the caretaker in that area thought she was moving.

We ended up welcoming him to Cupids Animal Haven.

He is not a friendly boy, no touchy, but he does like food so we get to see him pretty often.

He is a big kitty and so handsome…he just does not want to be friends!

Such a big personally not to mention just a big cat!

He came to us as a baby with a broken leg. It was not broken through the skin and was not in the growth plate, so the vet suggested we leave it to heal on its own and after a month if cage rest sure enough it healed perfectly!

This guy loves nothing better than to climb under the covers, have his human wrap their arms around him and cuddle to sleep.

This is one of Bob’s cats, BB. We met Bob shortly after we opened our sanctuary. He was 88 at the time.

He was preparing for surgery and wanted to make sure his cats would be taken care of in the event he was unable to take care of them after his surgery. We agreed to help.

Over the years as events have unfolded with Bob, an eviction from his home, moving to be with family but it not working out and now moving into a trailer, we have taken in 6 of his cats and given them a safe home. One required surgery immediately and all needed updated shots.

Bob is 92 now and he still has 4 kitties left. Unfortunately, Bob is once again facing eviction, he also has food insecurity, no washer or dryer, health issues and no family to help him out. We are doing what we can to help him.

I need to get the last 4 cats from him and all of them need updated vetting. I need to get some food for Bob, and get him some basic necessities, like underwear and socks. I have been buying him microwaveable meals as the cooking situation in the trailer is not ideal.

If anyone can help us out with vetting of the 4 remaining cats, or you’d care to help Bob get through this tough time we would be very grateful!

Not sure if anyone remembers the cats we pulled from Arlington last year that had been taped up in a plastic container and basically left to die. Someone found them and took them to the shelter, where they quickly became last call due to their overwhelming fear.

We decided to pull them all when we found out one of their siblings had been adopted, to see what we could do with them.

When they got to us, we found Ariel was super friendly and we were able to get her moved to an adoption rescue immediately.

But the other three were very, very scared of humans…understandable!

Yoshi, the single male was aggressive if you moved toward him. Cutie and Skittles just made themselves scarce.

It has taken many months of consistent care, yummy food, giving them their space and love to see them slowly begin to trust humans again.

Are they friendly enough for adoption…hard to say, but even Yoshi who I thought would never come around is a super sweetie. Skittles is still pretty shy, but we get to see her now. Cutie is outwardly affectionate.

We love to be able to pull cats who are lost and scared in the shelter environment and see them grow into loving and confident kitties. It does not always work out that way with the scared ones, but many times we are able to pass them along for adoption once they get away from the shelter.

Thank you to all who donated to Cupid's Animal Haven for North Texas Giving Day!

We fell well short of our goal, so we will continue fundraising this fall, but I am so grateful to those who gave us their vote of confidence with their donations! We cannot do this without you!!

I would be remiss if I did not call out several rescues and rescuers who made posts about Cupids Animal Haven yesterday, even while they were fundraising for their own rescues. You will never know how much I appreciate that. You drove new followers and funds to our cause! THANK YOU!

This is Tigger.

She came to us from a citizen who had been taking care of her and her two babies. All three tested positive for Feline leukemia and we took them all in. Her babies unfortunately did not have long lives. Tigger is semi-feral. She likes humans on her own terms, but mostly keeps to herself. She does like other cats and her outdoor area. She has been with us for 3 years!

What do we do with your donations on North Texas Giving Day!!!

$ - We buy a high quality dry food for all our kitties. We use Purina Pro Plan kibble! We spend approximately $3000 a month on dry food and another $1000 on canned food.

$$ - We spend anywhere from $75,000- $100,000 a year on vet visits, the medicines we keep in stock and flea and tick preventatives!

$$$ - We buy replacement cat condos, beds, outdoor shelters for the kitties to have a fun and interactive place to live and other supplies.

🐈We are a small rescue, with a big rescue intake!

🐈‍⬛We are fully volunteer run, so there are no salaries!

🐈All your donations go fully toward the care and feeding of the cats.

🐈‍⬛Please help us continue to give our resident less adoptable kitties their best life possible!
