Attention North Texas Veteran Entrepreneurs! 🇺🇸💼

At the North Texas Veterans Business Council, our mission has always been simple: look out for the men and women who served when they make the leap into the business world. Now, we’re looking to expand exactly how we back you.

We are currently brainstorming and developing new Micro-Grant Programs designed to knock down the financial barriers that slow down early-stage or growing businesses. We want to fund the practical things that actually move the needle.

A few ideas we have on the table right now:
🔹 The Launchpad Grant: Covering the legal costs and filing fees to officially establish your LLC.
🔹 The Megaphone Grant: Funding local advertising and marketing packages to get your brand in front of customers.

But before we build this out, we want to hear directly from the boots on the ground.

If you could win a micro-grant for your business next month, what specific expense would help you the most?

Web hosting/Digital setup?

Equipment or specialized software?

Professional branding/logos?

Government contracting certifications?

Drop your ideas, your needs, or your feedback in the comments below. Let’s build something that truly serves those who served! ⚒️👇

On June 12, President Truman signed the Women in Armed Forces Integration Act of 1948.

Today, around the country our Lady vets are being recognized, celebrated, and remembered.

Share a picture of, and tag, your favorite ladies in your life that have served so we can also thank them!

The Military Women's Memorial will be hosting a live virtual event honoring 250 years of women serving, even before they were "allowed" to.

What does N.A.V.Y. stand for? Never Again Volunteer Yourself! And we joke Marines are the dumb ones...

When Doc Richard Jones at Apex One Wellness said he brought in a new machine that has the potential to be beneficial to veterans with PTSD/depression/addiction/insomnia and Senior Squid screamed, "I volunteer as tribute!"

Maybe you've heard of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), maybe you haven't. TMS is a non-invasive brain stimulation therapy that uses magnets to basically reorganize the brain and repair disconnections in the brain. It's a newer therapy that is currently being offered at military healthcare facilities and Doc Jones has brought this (potential) miracle to veterans near you!

The process is 30-mins at a time, 1 session a week, for 6 weeks. But just look at Senior Squid, all tucked in by Brittany, the ExoMind Technician, basically taking a nap to start the day.

We are going to give you updates as Senior Squid goes through her treatment; however, if you want to know how you can get your own journey started get a referral from your Primary Care Manager. Call the office and get started! Before you start your ExoMind therapy, you get an Automated Nervous System (ANS)/neuro scan. Senior gets to see her results tomorrow, but Doc Jones already reviewed just how much her brain and body are freaking out!

Stay tuned for the updates, because if your mental health is struggling ExoMind and the incredible staff at Apex 1 could be the next stop on your journey to peace.

Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for being tucked in. (We're really hoping for good sleep tonight so she's not so crabby😉 Get it? Crabby...Squid...You know what? It's not funny if we have to explain it to you.)

Did you know that today is National "Don't Give up the Ship" Day? 🚢⚓️ Yeah, neither did we—but the history behind it is wild.

Back on June 1, 1813, an American Captain named James Lawrence was mortally wounded in a sea battle against the British. As he was being carried below deck, his final words to his men were: “Don’t give up the ship!”

The British actually ended up capturing his ship, but the phrase became a massive rallying cry. A few months later, his friend Commodore Perry printed those exact words on a huge blue battle flag, rowed through enemy gunfire to win the Battle of Lake Erie, and secured a huge win for the US.

Today, the phrase is still a massive part of Navy tradition. Not a bad mindset to start the week with! Single-tap the like button if you learned something new today! 👇

The history of Don’t Give Up The Ship Day is divided between gallantry and treachery — one is celebrated as a hero, the other as a savage.
