This week at Wayzata Rotary Club, Dave Snider, Sr. Partner of The Redemption Project was our speaker. His topic was on Incarceration in America.

The United States has the highest incarceration rate in the world with 737 prisoners per 100,000 individuals as of July 2017. This surpasses the per capita incarceration rate of the Russian Federation and China combined.

The Redemption Project was formed to serve an unfulfilled need in our society. Other organizations that address various aspects contributing to recidivism rates in the United States already exist; however, none devote their focus to finding partners willing to mentor, support, and/or employ justice-impacted individuals. We assign our students Senior Partners while they are still incarcerated and upon release provide TRP Associates with meaningful financial support and, perhaps most importantly, employment opportunities with employers who have been identified as felon friendly, second chance employers.

Thank you for visiting Wayzata Rotary Club Dave!

Today’s meeting at Wayzata Rotary looked a little different—in the best way. Instead of a scheduled speaker, we enjoyed a relaxed lunch and great conversation with one another.

We also had the pleasure of hearing from one of our members about her incredible travel experiences in Japan—full of culture, perspective, and inspiration.

A great reminder that sometimes the most meaningful meetings are the informal ones.

Winning Isn't the Finish Line: Finding Purpose, Identity and Joy After Success

Deborah helps leaders, business owners, and high achievers navigate the often-overlooked season after success—reconnecting with purpose, identity, and joy when titles change and the next chapter isn’t yet clear. After transforming and selling my family’s hardware store, I discovered that the real work begins after the milestone. Now, I guide others through that same transition with practical tools and honest conversation.

Blue Water was founded in 2007 as an educational nonprofit organization. In the spring of 2017, we cemented our role as a major arts organization in the Wayzata community by moving into the historic Unitarian Universalist Church of Minnetonka. Today, Blue Water has grown into a premier space for theatre education in the western suburbs. Roughly 300 youth from across Minnesota come to experience our classes, productions, pre-professional programs and welcoming community. Our staff are committed to the exploration of classic, contemporary, and new works to provide a diverse and rigorous curriculum.
